Is It Still Cheating?

Whenever my friends and I get together for a friendly card game the discussion of cheating gets brought up. This is mostly due to the fact that someone always attempts to cheat, more often than not getting caught in the process. However, there are a few who get by with it. Now I don’t know if its arrogance or what, but they always feel the need to tell you about it after the game. This brings me to my topic: Is it still cheating if you don’t get caught?

In my circle of friends the debate is pretty even. Half believing that it is still cheating, while the other half choose to believe it is only cheating if you get caught. So I will spend the next few minutes telling you my personal opinion on the subject. Now remember I am not saying this is the right answer, all I am saying is that this is how I personally view it. We have rules for a certain reason, whether you choose to follow them or not. They are there and if you knowingly disobey these rules then you are a cheater. It does not matter if you get caught or not. At the end of the day, it is you that will know you broke the rules and you will have to live with it. If you do not possess the skills required to win without cheating then you should not be playing the game. Now you know my stance on the subject and it is up to you to decide how you feel about it.
