Keep a Marriage Healthy

Keeping marriages healthy is the key.

All is not lost with today’s society.  When we look back at our mistakes and say HUM!  Why did I do that?  Then you have learned from it.  With the rate of divorces on the rise, it has become harder to find a couple who has been together longer than 15 years.  Any relationship take work. It’s a two way street  and takes both partner working at the same time to keep it going.  Hear are a few tips to help any couple just starting out in a relationship.  No one likes a person who is always right  or is a know it all. Both sides need to realize this and admit it when they are wrong.

If you do something wrong or make a mistake, say you‘re sorry.  Telling your husband or wife  that you were wrong and that you are sorry, you are showing them that you willing to move past it . You are showing your partner that you are able to accept your mistakes. Apologize even you don’t believe you are wrong. More arguments start over these types of situations than any other.  Don’t assume you know your partner better than they know themselves .  This is a really bad idea. You may know a lot about them, but you don’t know everything.   They have the right to speak their mind just like you do. Communication is not one-sided,  it must be a two-way street.

Don’t be a “I told you so”.   Those words have started more arguments than you can imagine.  The other person already knows they were wrong and telling them so only belittles them and makes them feel ashamed about what happened.  Instead, just be there for them if they need you. No one is perfect and trying to find perfections will only lead to disaster in any relationship.  When you realize this, things will begin to fall into place.

Be willing to adapt and willing  to listen .  When starting a new relationship, give your partner space o grow and be there own person.  Keep the lines of communication open .  Remember even though your intentions are good, you may find thing backfiring.
