Keeping the One You Want

Why your relationships seem to always break down.

What does it take for two people to come together? I can hear you say love. The first question that we should ask ourselves is “what is a relationship?” This could mean closeness between you and another person, which is more intimate than the acquaintances. The next thing that comes to mind is “why should I be in a relationship?” Talk about friendship.

Statistics have shown that many people may be friendly but cannot be good friends. We can start counting down:

Why our relationships fail most times is that we are not friends ourselves. Friendship encompasses a lot of things, above all is love, care and sharing. Someone said that a friend is one who walks in when the whole world walks out. True friendship entails sacrificial love.

Since you have been trying hate and selfishness why not try this:

Make this a habit: STOP ASKING! START GIVING! Paste it beside your bed so that you will see it every morning. If you have never given more than you receive, then you have not started living.

We are the problem; always selfish. We expect others to offer us themselves, their time and their resources. What about you? Although there are ironies of life where people do not appreciate the good you have done to them but let the consciousness that you have done good satisfy your soul.

Solve that problem today. It starts by being a friend yourself. Here is the magic: Give a little more than you receive from today and see how beautiful your life will be.
