Long Term Relationships at a Young Age

by BrandonGates in Relationships, June 17, 2009

Have you ever wondered how you got here? What happened to our freedom of choice? The whole world seems to be shrinking.

A lot of young people have lived through long term relationships experience. For some of them it was the greatest time ever. But many of them regret all the things they missed during the time they spent in a relationship like dating in high school, cool parties and all that fun stuff. One thing they really missed the most was the freedom of choice. They felt like prisoners of their own will.

The time has stopped

It was all fun when it started. But soon they had to follow a list of strict rules. There were times when they were feeling a bit down because of those rules; they wanted to have more freedom, so they actually talked a few times over the years about this problem. But little or nothing was done.

Things just had to change

The times are changing, as Bob Dylan once said. But there was no one to realize it. As the years go by, they have both changed, but they were still living in the past. Everything was just as it was before. Same way of kissing, making love, dressing, hair style; there were no new things. They wanted change so badly, but they were actually blinded once again.

The good times

Everyone looks back on their relationships and no one can say it was all bad or all good because it’s both. There were a lot of good times as well. They made a lot of beautiful memories together. These memories enriched their lives. Kissing in the swimming pool, first clumsy sexual experience, Madonna’s concert, holding hands at the top of the Eiffel Tower; these are just some of things to remember.

Basics for the future

But there’s one thing you can’t deny. They had the opportunity to learn to think for themselves and to be heard and respected. They have also learned that change is slow, but that growth will happen. They discovered their spiritual dimension. All of this helped them set the ground rules for new relationships.
