Making Time for Your Spouse or Significant Other
How to make time for the love of your life and best spend it.
In today’s rushed world, making time for the one you love can be a challenge, especially if both of you work. Having a great relationship not only requires hard work, but the time to do it in. It is no wonder that many relationships, even when both parties try to succeed at making it work, fail simply because there is not enough time in the day. Once time is made for the marriage to work, the couple can use that time for spending it with each other to talk, genuinely bond with each other, and share hobbies and recreational activities together.
If both individuals work, their hours can be coordinated so that they can be at home together for supper at night, go out to a movie, a restaurant, or a quiet night at home snuggled up under a warm blanket while watching a DVD. Sometimes it’s those quiet nights that can be the most intimate, just the two of you together with no interruptions or disturbances. When it comes to vacation time from work, a three day weekend getaway out of state or camping at a state park can be great. Doing something that is not routine with some degree of spontaneity can help your relationship grow. Enjoy walks together through the woods, a picnic at the beach, swimming in a lake, or admiring the wildflowers that grow in the area. Don’t forget the camera on your trips to take those snapshots together to record your happiest memories together. Most importantly, once home from the trip, keep that feeling of a private getaway alive between you, no matter where you go, or what you may be doing. Treat the relationship as the most precious thing to be valued, not something that is expendable.
