Meaning of Love

Thoughts about what love means to some people.

If you go out with somebody and you split up there is a good chance that thee is a feeling of loss because you can no longer be with that person. Is that feeling of loss love? You constantly think of someone although that person is no longer in your life for some reason or other. Is that love? What about when you look into another person’s eyes and you see something that is difficult to put into words. Is that it? People have been bewildered by the attractive force it wields and have had difficulty differentiating between it and its component parts. In other words, the feeling of loss or missing someone who is dear are both signs of love and by love one is not necessarily referring to the form that causes people to form permanent relationships.

If love is not just an attractive force, it must have some other elements like wanting to dedicate your life worth another person. On the other hand the idea of a singular love object is not very popular among polygamists who like to think that love can be shared among a variety of people. It is an elusive thing that can have more than one object then, only in some cultures can we choose how many may be the ultimate object. In Canada I believe it is illegal to be married to more than one person but there are plenty of people who have multiple partners and they are not wed. One only has to examine trends on campus sites or among a relatively younger age group.

Age is a factor in falling in love. Is love than something that is age dependent? Actually people find love at all ages but I wonder at its intensity and whether one can really feel as attached out of love when you are elderly as when you are younger. Being in your prime means having greater possibilities of finding love, probably because there is a larger pool of healthier people. People like to associate with healthier people too when it come to falling in love.
