If any of you have ever considered online dating, don’t knock it until you try it! I know to some, it is completely crazy sounding, but for others, who seem to never be able to meet the right person when you’re out, it might be something you have considered. Well, I tried it and that’s how I met my boyfriend! We have been together for almost two years now and I couldn’t be happier! Here are some pointers in case you decide to try it out:

1. Be careful! There are weirdoes out there and you just have to make sure you do a lot of talking on the phone first, if you intend to meet someone in person.
2. Don’t be afraid to talk to people, I actually ended up making a few friends. They might not always turn out to be dating material, but you could make new friends in the process!
3. If you decide to meet someone, make sure you do it in a public place, and somewhere where people are around. I had someone come and pick me up at my apartment when I first started online dating, but someone was home when they came.

The most important thing is to make sure you have plenty of conversations on the phone first. Talking on the computer is fine, but you want to be able to hear their voice, make sure you can have actual verbal conversations. When you meet the person, just talk about everything. See if you can keep conversations going.

Believe me, I used to make fun of people who tried online dating, but after my ex, I figured I would give it a try. I met the guy that I am going to spend the rest of my life with online. We just connected so well and if it wasn’t for me taking a risk, I would never be with him today. Good luck and don’t be afraid to try something new.
