Reality Bites: Love & Friendship
An article regarding my observation about the ironies of life. It talks about pain and the struggle of a person in facing reality.
Love. Friendship. Reality Bites.
What is the best advice when it comes to love and friendship?
They bite. Most of the time, it hurts and it leaves us bleeding to death.
What is the best remedy?
Accept that life is unfair, cruel and simply degrading.
Is it advisable to take anesthesia?
It is possible. But it will not last for a long time. The pain will return in no time. It is just a useless detour.
What is the best way to recover?
Letting go. Let go or endure insanity.
What is the finest way to deal with side effects?
Pain will always leave scars. No surgery or laser treatment can fade them. Unless you wanted to be skeptic all your life; you have to deal with those scars with open heart.
How to deal with trauma?
Recognize the fact that it happened. There is nothing you can do. Nobody has the power to turn back the hands of time. Move on or be a living dead.
Is it worthwhile to do a follow-up checkup?
It depends. However, it is not a waste of time to do so. Pain can easily lead to hatred. And hatred leaves incurable wounds not scars. They become deadly. It is fatal to leave them unnoticed and unattended.
It is not being cynical or critical to use medicinal instructions as a metaphor of life. I find it absurd that hypocrisy became a household attitude of this generation. I don’t believe that this generation is trapped again in the middle between the 20th and 21st century.
It is not hard to deal with life. What is hard in living is how to deal with all kinds of people. Philosophy, Science, Psychology, Literature, and Theology will always remind us that we are one in this world. It likes I still hear my late Philosophy professor asking us what is the difference between being-in-the-world and being- with- the- word. Perhaps as I understood it before, it is not enough to be in the world, we have to play a part. I just wonder if all this Philosophers think that way, how come most of them led a solitary life? The never ending ironies of life.
