Reality Bites

In the world today there are many issues we face let alone the economy and its epidemic downturn that is sweeping the nation. There are the more personal issues of strife that it causes between families and loved ones. The divorce rate alone has skyrocketed to unheard of proportions. No one these days truly puts any value in a relationship or into the person for that matter. For example a girl doesn’t really care about you she cares about what you represent. The big truck the nice car the house the toys etc and so on. When you sit back and think compared to days of old where every couple was struggling to survive and this inturn created bond that most often times made them stronger and closer together is not found today. As people are marrying for more selfish reasons not for love but more so for material gain or status. Now not only does a man have to be in good shape and carry himself well he has to have the whole nine yards all the materials needed to one up the next person. This is a large reason for the divorce rate being what it is. There is no longer any real value bestowed upon the marriage itself. This saddens me but makes me realize that you most definitely cannot trust anyone in this day and age and even if you are a success it begs the question does she like me for me or what I represent? We are also a generation of the have it right now crowd instant gratification is what we seek which also changes are whole outlook on life and the things in which we pursue. I hope that someday things will change for the better but as of right now all I see is a road thats leading to a dead end.
