Well, making a mistake unknowingly is surely a mistake but making a mistake with complete realization is foolishness. There might be pros and cons about marrying a foreigner but I am not going into the debate about “Not marrying a foreigner” as I will save it for my future dedication to dear readers.

- A girl in foreign land wants to marry a guy from a different country as she is poor and on the other hand a wealthy guy is searching for a beautiful foreigner bride. Bingo, rings the wedding bells!
- A guy is divorced and belongs to a rigid and narrow-minded community where he is blamed for this outcome and so marrying a foreigner will solve his problem and help him move away for the fresh air.
- A guy lives in his own fantasy and dreams of fairy tales and Hollywood movies have boosted his idea of marrying a foreign blonde. Marrying a foreigner will surely fulfill his dreams and make him happy.
- In some parts of the world marrying a foreigner is considered as a fashion or status and so marrying a foreigner is surely bound to increase your price in the society.
- Like those scientific researches where even mules are produced as a part of hybridization between horses and donkeys, it’s a fantastic idea of making your ancestors proud by taking a leadership of giving to your family the new researched and multi-cultural heirs.
- Marrying a foreigner also gives you chances of visiting different parts of the world and allows you to enjoy the different traditions and cultures.

A very well placed article. However you never really mentioned love as being the top hit to marry and to give foreign girls the cast off Casanova made me laugh. I agree that the internet and faster travel have made it easier for all cultures to meet easier and if you meet someone and ‘gel’ and that leads to marriage then great, but lets not discount the fact that you could be spending 50+ years with that other person.

You are right lilyrose, I forgot to mention the love factor but that is the most common and happens for sure when the two people are in the same country. You are also correct about spending more time in a relationship.

Marrying a person of a different culture results in beautiful children who have no idea what there race, religion or country is!! That gives them a head start in the new global world!!

Love can happen with any one, it may be with a foreigner or our own country men or women, I don’t think there is any positive reason to marry a foreigner

Very interesting article. I think I partially agree with the article and partially with the last comment – I think love CAN happen with anyone, but I do think these are positive reasons to marry a foreigner. But I think you find positive reasons to marry whoever it is you’re in love with
