Rekindling the Flicker of a Flame

Bringing back the love inside a relationship.

Many people think that once love has lost its power in a relationship the flame can be brought back. This is true for some. Sometimes it can and sometimes there is no hope. It depends on the damage done inside of the relationship.

What do I mean inside of the relationship? Any relationship has its boundaries and walls. It’s the glue that holds it together. It might be the delicious food on the table every night. It might be the continuing ironing of the clothes for the partner in a relationship. It can be many things. Whatever it is it nourishes the relationship and strengthens the glue within the walls.

The breakdown of the walls consists of resentments which pick apart the glue each and every day there is conflict. The glue starts to be pulled apart and the walls begin to decay. The things that once mattered in the relationship are altered by fear and rejection. The layering of pointing fingers and accusations build upon the once beautiful words of “I love you”.

Depending on the stress level of the relationship and the determination of fixing the fixable: partners in a relationship realize that something has gone astray and is missing from their relationship. The warm fuzzy feelings are no longer there. They are replaced now with frustration and bitter words that hold anger.

How is the flame rekindled? How is the love brought back inside of the relationship? It starts with one on one time together. It begins with forgiveness and realizing that the parts of the relationship that are the most important need to be tugged at again.

The heart knows no boundaries and once there is increased communication, and the bending of wills; the glue starts to cement itself once again; keeping love inside and anger out of the way.

I think if you are still in the Relationship there is still a chance. If you want to be with this person you have a good chance of making it work. If you have left the relationship, then it’s much harder.
