Relationships are Like Cats and Dogs

If you think about it, a relationship can either be sweet or it can be sour. A relationship can also be like a cat or a dog. How so you say? Let’s weigh the factors.

First off, what do you prefer more of? Cats or dogs?  If you like cats it could be possible that you have their personality. Or if you like dogs, your dreams can be filled with running in place and howling at the moon! No…not seriously.

This article is about how you can determine someones personality to see if they fit into your “relationship” quality. To determine that, you need to understand that there are two, yes I said 2, different types of people in this world.

Type #1 – distant, aloof, agile, love you when they want to and take off when they went

Type #2 – are loyal, loving, affectionate, and stick by your side no matter what

You can describe type 1 as being more like a cat. If you have ever owned a cat you can notice that they are at times very distant, they love their space and they come to you when they want loving and of course leave you when they want and let’s not forget about the creepy gifts they’ll give you in exchange for you letting them into your life.

And, for type 2, they are much like dogs. They will be there for you no matter what, love you to the full extent that they can love you, will remain loyal (no cheating) and when the moon shines bright they will sometimes howl at the moon (thus showing their love to you)

It might not make any sense, but if you really think about it and the men/women you have dated in the past you can begin to understand what type of person you really want in your life.

So, perhaps instead of jumping right into bed and starting that relationship, why not evaluate them?

For example, you could ask them a series of questions, such as:

1. What is your favorite animal, and why?

2. Who matters more, your friends or family?

3. If you could have one trait from your favorite animal, what it would be and why?

4. Are you a gift giving person or spend more time being affectionate?

These types of questions can help you decipher how someone really is. Of course you can come up with your own questions that you don’t think are stupid or make better sense to you.

So, I will at this point add in my two cents. Most of my ex’s have been like cats. Perhaps it is the thrill of trying to keep their attention, because you have to be good to do that. Evidently I lost that thrill years ago, but because most have been like cats, I’ve stuck with the cats.

Perhaps its time for me to play with the big dogs! And time for you to figure out if you want a cat or a dog!
