Romantic Ideas You Might Want to Try

Some people think Valentine’s Day is getting boring. Many are sticking to the dinner and movie plan, and everything is becoming more of a routine than an actual projection of love. There is no surprise, no creativity, and there is not as much excitement. What can be done about it? With some of these suggestions, perhaps that spark can be reignited in your relationship, whether it’s Valentine’s Day or just a random day in which you decide to show your lover what exactly they mean to you.

4. Take notes! This is especially important for both sexes! If your significant other mentions really wanting a particular item, or really wanting to attend a certain event, write it down before you forget it. That way, you can do something very special for them and surprise them with the thoughtfulness you put into your gift! I guarantee they’ll never forget it!

5. Volunteer for a worthy cause with your significant other! This suggestion can be one of the most rewarding of all! You can feed the homeless, donate clothes, bring toys to children in hospitals and spend time with them, or even teach someone how to read (you’d be surprised how many people in our very own country can’t!). Nursing homes are also a great idea! This will not only make you feel a greater sense of worth, but will strengthen your appreciation for one another as well!

6.  14 Days of Valentine’s Day! (This can also be used for the 12 Days of Christmas, or any other religious or nonreligious event you’d like to celebrate. Anniversaries even!) This is where those notes in suggestion number 4 can help! It doesn’t have to be anything big, but  giving her a small gift for that special day ahead of time should really surprise her and make her feel loved!

7. Celebrate half- birthdays! This would be the perfect time to get them something special and have a great excuse to do it.  Most people don’t celebrate half- birthdays so the look on your lover’s face when you show up with a gift at their door just randomly, should be priceless!

8. Have a midnight picnic! This might not work if you live in a bustling city, but might be a great idea if you live in a suburban area! Bring some champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, bread, turkey slices, a picnic blanket and basket, etc. and some candles. Blindfold your lover upon arriving to his/her house, escort them out, and drive them to the location. Spread out all of your supplies, and take off the blindfold. Enjoy a wonderful, romantic night together!

9. Do some chores! If your beloved is coming home late, try doing the dishes, vacuum, do the laundry, etc. You could even do the chores just to show your appreciation for your better half! For an added touch, run a nice, warm bubble bath too! Don’t forget to buy some candles and put them along the tub for a romantic touch! www.forgetUnot.com , www.messageinabootleCo.com, http://messageinabottle.com, www.oceangramstore.com, www.bottlemeamessage.com, and www.onepassionplace.com are some websites that offer romantic bottled messages! You can write your own message on the parchment paper at checkout, have it delivered to you, and put it in her bubble bath so she can find it!

10. Make a recipe for your love! This might sound corny but it’s really romantic and thoughtful at the same time! Add ingredients like 5 cups of love, a dash of kindness, 2 cups of understanding, etc. You can present this to your lover or put it in one of their recipe books in a bookmark fashion for them to discover down the road!

I hope some of these suggestions are helpful! I know some of them are just twists on dates people actually go on or ideas that may have been done before, but I think twists are sometimes just the thing we need to add some spice in a relationship!

Best of luck and spread the love!
