Definition of Date Rape

You must make sure that you really know the definition of rape. Date rape is a legal term. It’s can only be performed by a man against a woman. The definition of date rape refers to manipulated, forced or nonconsensual sexual act between couples or generally friends who are known to each other occurring in date-like situation.

Coerce

If someone tries to coerce you into doing something that you feels uncomfortable either by touching or kissing, you must tell him clearly and loudly that you don’t like it or say `Stop’ or `No’, and mean it.

Limitation

Be clear about your limits and do not give in to persuasion. If you are getting too friendly, it can easily be misunderstood by possible perpetrators. Studies shows that more than eighty four percent of women who have been date raped mentioned that they are already knew the people who are attacking you. You should always lookout for suspicious signs or behavior.

Unattended Drinks

If you are at a party, get your own drinks. Do not drink if you have left your drink standing unattended for a long time! If you are going to drink, limit your drinking. Ninety percent of date rape cases occur when the victim is drunk. Be responsible when it comes to alcohol. Do not allow yourself to get into a position where you lose sense of your surroundings.

Trusted Friends

Go to parties with friends who can be trusted to stand up for you or bring you home safely. Instead of showing up alone at a blind date or during a bar night out, it is better bring your company together with you and spend some time introducing the people that approaches to you before leaving the safety of your own company in quest of another romantic adventure.

Drugged

First, you should know your rights. You have sole rights to your body and no one can violate your territorial space without your consent. If you think that you have been drugged, tell a friend immediately and leave the location at once. In order to protect yourself, it is a good idea to carry a self-defense object with you.

Arrange Transportation

G, these are great limits. Excellent boundaries. Keep yourself out of a situations as much as possible. This issue has been one of the toughest subjects in American society. When I was in college the numbers were staggering of how many girls were actually raped, most of whom did not report it. Brian
