Should You Trust Your Husband or Boyfriend Too Much

Being able to trust your husband or boyfriend that he would not cheat on you is nice. But trusting them blindly would be foolishness. It’s true that after spending a great deal of time you know to a greater extent what to expect or what not to expect from your partner. When it comes to trusting blindly it is like you closing your eyes and saying “It’s night now”. This does not mean that you should look at your partners every action with suspicion. But it would be better to be cautious than repent later, isn’t it?

Being able to trust your husband or boyfriend that he would not cheat on you is nice. But trusting them blindly would be foolishness. It’s true that after spending a great deal of time you know to a greater extent what to expect or what not to expect from your partner. When it comes to trusting blindly it is like you closing your eyes and saying “It’s night now”. This does not mean that you should look at your partners every action with suspicion. But it would be better to be cautious than repent later, isn’t it?

I have my own reasons to believe that one should not trust anyone blindly. We all are human beings and are likely to commit mistakes based on circumstances. Infidelity in Relationships is on a rise. To assume that someone would never commit mistakes is foolishness. Moreover, the human tendency is that we cheat people who believe or trust us more than the other way round. I have several acquaintances of mine who are cheating their spouses or girlfriends. Rahul who is an ex colleague of mine is having an affair with his Secretary for the past 2 years. I asked him how he could do this to his wife who is such a nice lady and is he not scared someone might tell her about his affair. His reply was that the other girl was available and that even if his wife comes to know she would never believe it. If this is not taking wife for granted what is? Another friend of mine was not so lucky. Abhimanyu thought that even if his wife comes to know about his affair she would be the typical Indian wife who is submissive and forgiving to her husband. Moreover, she was not outgoing and did not have any income of her own. But when Alka came to know about her Husbands affair she walked out on him.

Another acquaintance of mine was having affair with 2 girls without knowing that they were friends. Imagine his shock when one of them introduced the other as friend later. A similar incident online and been dating online for over 8 months and that she is going to visit his country during the Christmas holidays. I asked her to give him his ID so that I can have a look at his Profile too and told her that I would like to chat with the guy anonymously to make sure that he is a good guy and not a cheater. She happily gave me the details and when I forwarded her the chat summery and his previous mails to me she was so shocked that she stopped communicating with me for over 2 weeks.  She sends me a thank you letter later for saving her from committing the mistake and we are friends till date. Incidentally the guy whom she was dating was a guy who was already in my friend list and he had send me several mailers and admitted in chat that he was only attracted to me and wanted me in life which was the same line he used on Kim too. I had no interest in him so I maintained that he would have me as friend for life. The mails he sends both of us were similar too with only changes in our names. At least I am happy I helped Kim from a greater heart break and loss of money.

Those of who have read my previous article How to Know If Your Man is cheating on you with Another Man knows what happened to my friend Jasmine who had blind trust on her husband. She went into depression for over 8 months after the break up. Jasmine is now married to a nice guy. But I don’t think that the experience what she had gone through with her previous husband would let her trust her current husband completely. So my point is never trust someone too much that when the trust is broken you would not be able to bear it.

we as humans cannot be monogamous whether there is trust or no trust… both men and women are same in this matter.

Videomark is absolutely correct. Trust must be earned, just like respect must be earned.

There has to be trust. Trust your husband and trust your instincts. In life, there is no way you can see unfortunate event coming unless you are psychic. Bad things happen to good people. We live, we learn and move on :)

Trust is sacred in a relationship and both partners should have the same level of trust in each other for a relationship to work and to last.

Everything has a breaking point. Anything stretched beyond its capacity snaps. So does trust — once broken, it can never be repaired completely.
