So What Do I Do with The Broken Pieces?

For anyone who’s ever had their heart shattered.

So it didn’t work out with the love of your life. It happens. But now you’ve put on this front like you’re ok and everyone believes you. Of course you want to look all tough and held-together, but let’s face it…when you act like you’re not hurt, most people aren’t going to dig enough to realize that you actually are. And then, all you’re left with are the broken pieces of a has-been relationship. So what next?

It’s ok to cry. I will admit that I am the type to hide my feelings when things take a turn for the worst, but if we are always so guarded we will never feel better. Have a night with your best friend and let it out (yes, even if you’re a guy). Trust me, you’ll feel a hundred times better and the greatest part of all is even if one person knows how you really feel, you’ll still appear unscathed to the rest of the world. And chances are, they may actually be able to help you.

Time really does heal all wounds. It may seem like the end of the world now, but the broken pieces of your heart (chiche, yet true) will eventually start to fall back together. It’s going to hurt, you’re going to cry and it is NOT going to be easy. But it will get better. No matter how low you feel, someone new will eventually come around and sweep you off our feet and you’ll forget what’s-his/her-name.

Remember, you must first experience pain before you can experience true love. You need to kiss a few frogs till you find your prince, and you’re gonna take a few girls from the bar home before you realize that isn’t what you’re looking for. Don’t ever lose sight of your worth just because your heart is broken- because eventually that right person will come along and you won’t even remember why you were hurting in the first place.
