Somethings are Priceless

If you are a dude, you definitely know that this time of year, you should definitely worry. With Valentine’s around the corner, malls and shopping centers are packed with guys trying to find something that’d impress her. But if by chance you get to read this before you make a trip to the jewelry store, then this might be an advantage to you.

You might find it surprising when you’ve been informed that material things don’t always make her happy–it only helps. But what truly makes her happy is the time you invest in her. So instead of storming into the malls or Tiffany’s, try thinking of something romantic that you both can do, and will make her feel loved. For instance, consider these tips if you want to avoid the pitfalls.

The outdoors is a perfect setting for a romantic moment. And a personal favorite of mine is the beach at sunset. Well, don’t think about going there empty handed, or you’ll be labeled “boring.” Think about the things she needs, and be selfless for a moment. For instance, take a bottle of wine and a couple of champagne glasses, and bring a blanket along with you. She’ll definitely expect chocolate, so you better put that on your list as well. This is the perfect setting to pop the question, so guys, if you’ve had something bottled up for some time, this is the time!

But the most important part of your evening of course is not just that, it doesn’t just end there. The most important part of a date is the conversation. Make sure you do not bring up football or baseball. She doesn’t want to hear about I love New York, neither does she want to hear about what you did with your buddies last night at the bar. As much as she loves when you compliment her on how she looks, telling her she looks beautiful the tenth time kills it. Yes, you’re interested, but you’re not desperate. And while many guys would think it’s polite to reciprocate every time she compliments you, try not to seem too conceited, and make her know that you’re awesome because she’s in your life.

If you can do this, then you’re on your way to a very long and prosperous relationship–until the next year, at least. But remember, the beach at sunset is not the only place you can have a really great date, with out spending a fortune. And if you’re not of drinking age, then sparkling grape juice in a wine bottle will do the trick. Or you can risk “bending” the law.

If you don’t feel like the outdoors right for your date, then there are always alternatives. Take her to a restaurant, for instance, Red Lobster, or T.G.I, or something a bit more chic. What ever you do, just make sure when you’re picking her up for your date, always present her with some red and/or white bouquets. Avoid yellow, or she’ll get the wrong idea. At the end of the day, if all goes well, she might even ask you to come in!
