The Art of Romance -1
by Romance is a mystical art for which very few people have a natural affinity. Unless you are Fabio or Casanova, you will have to develop your romantic instincts. Here are some basic insights to start you on the path.
I wish he was more romantic! This is the cry of women the World over. And while women crave romance more than they ever did, men are only getting worse at it. And is it any wonder? In a world where Hollywood dictates what society wants, women are watching movies where the man pursues his love through deserts and jungles, and declares his undying love in poetry and songs of everlasting devotion. Men on the other hand are watching movies where the guy shoots the baddies and some hot woman throws herself at him begging him to rip her clothes off. No wonder there is this great divide between a woman’s expectation and the mans delivery.
But it isn’t as difficult as most men would imagine. Romance can really be broken down into two broad categories, both as important as each other – The expected and the unexpected. If you simply focus on these two areas, you could quite easily become a romance god. For this article I will focus on the first area – the expected. Lets look at it in a little detail…
Romance – The Expected
There are certain things that a man is expected to do in a loving relationship, or just as importantly, if he is trying to form a relationship with a prospective partner. These things revolve around certain days of the year such as birthdays, anniversaries, Valentines day, Christmas etc. Females are great at these times of the year. They spend hours shopping for the perfect gift, then making a little card and wrapping everything just perfectly. Males on the other hand will drop into a 24 hour servo the night before and pick up a box of chocolates. I know, because I have been there.
If a man can learn what is really expected for these few days of the year and deliver it, he will find himself in an elite group of males known as “romantics”. It may not be something you want your football buddies to call you, but it is definitely worth having your wife or girlfriend labeling you as a romantic.
The main reason most males don’t measure up on these simple days is that they have no idea what is expected. So let me spell it out for you. All that is expected is effort. Romance is all about the appearance of effort. Make her see that you have gone to effort, and you are on a winner. Is it really that simple? YES. So what does making the effort look like? simply a little planning. Here are a few simple tips.
