The Friends Zone

I bet many of you have found yourself trapped in the friend zone without any real escape. Many of you have probably even tried to find a way out of the friends zone, but have failed miserably every time you tried. Believe me, I have plenty experience finding myself in this inescapable hell that many guys call “The Friends Zone”.

The key to evading being captured by the friend zone is that you must NEVER fall into the zone, unless it is on purpose, but you must know the signs to be sure to never fall again.

The Warning Signs:

1. Every “date” is during the day or going out to lunch; always reschedule for a night time that fits your schedule.
2. She cries to you about how guys mistreat her, but she shows no feelings for you except for someone to complain to. If she isn’t your girlfriend, a good friend that is a girl ( that is your friend on purpose), or someone who likes you…do not listen. I mean hey we’re good at not listening anyways right?
3. She actually has no feelings for you to the point in which you become like the gay friend and undresses around you. She doesn’t care because she has no feelings for you and thinks you don’t have feelings for her either because you have been a pushover and haven’t told her. You may have continued to let her believe this for so long because you’re to afraid to “screw” things up with her. Yeah it’s called taking chances.
4. She asks you to go shopping with her. Once again you’ve reached the “like the gay friend” point.
5. Her boyfriends are not jealous about you.
6. You actually get along with her family better than her boyfriends, because lets face it you’re not a threat to their daughter’s “innocence”.
7. You do anything she asks,   she calls. That is just plain unhealthy…STOP IT!!!!
8. She is on your speed dial, but you are not on hers, or you are on her under some nickname that disguises you in some way as to let everyone know she is not interested in you in any sexual way what-so-ever.
9. She only calls to complain, ask you to lunch, or to go shopping.
10. You remember her birthday, but she forgets your or she never knew it all. Maybe you never told her or this proves just how much she doesn’t care for you and that she is just using you for your friendship.

Watch for these warning signs. If you are seeing these warning signs bail immediately, stand up and let her know how you feel, don’t answer her phone calls unless you need something from her as well, or do all the above and leave her wanting more. Keep in mind once in the friend zone you’re permanently in the friends zone.
