The Good and Bad Aspects of Online Marriage

One of the dividends of Information and Telecommunication Technology9ICT) in the world today is online marriage, which is the type of marriage being contracted on the internet without the parties to it seeing physically before the proposal is sealed.

Online marriage is helpful to those who are very shy, that is, those who always find it difficult to talk to the opposite sex and those who are separated from their kinsmen and would prefer to marry among the kinsmen.

The disadvantages of online marriage are many. It does not give room for the parties involved in it to study each other very well to know their weaknesses thus making many of such marriages to collapse like a pack of cards at the end due to incessant conflicts.

Some people engage in online marriage to perpetrate fraud. It is a norm nowadays for youths to seek for marriage with wealthy females on the internet so as to dupe such females at the end.

Online marriage encourages prostitution in the society. Many female youths are deceived by males through this. At the end, such females are lured into prostitution.
