The Lighter Side to Proposing to Your Girl

A light hearted look at how you should go about proposing marraige to your girl.

If you think dating was tough you are in for a shock when it comes to proposing marriage.

“Will you marry me “ may seem like the easiest words that will ever come out of your mouth but when you are down on your knees with her hand in yours the throat will dry up like a strip of desert sand. It does help to practice the lines many times over but still there is no assurance you won’t be tongue tied when your knee hurts and palm sweats in hers.

Getting down on one knee is absolutely dreamy even though it might be a little too old fashioned and it will be established in your girls mind once and for all that you are a sweet romantic. The irony of it is that if she says YES to you that’s where you will spend most of your married life – on your knees at her feet!!

An important thing to remember before you propose is to have spoken about settling down together sometime in your relationship else you may be in for the mild shock of “ I need to think about it “ or the major jolt of outright rejection. Both the ways it will puncture your manhood and the air of love and confidence will slowly fizzle out of your life.

When you do get down to proposing, ensure that it still is a surprise to her and please – not in front of a hundred people. Honestly, that works only in the movies and not in real life. She would most certainly love it to be just the two of you in some romantic corner. It is a moment in time that needs to be cherished and remembered for years to come and none except the two of you will be able to value and relish it.

Rings normally go along with a proposal but please not hidden in food or a glass of wine. In real life the chances are that she will either bite into it and break a tooth or drink it down and choke to death. That will be the end of your marriage plans and the beginning or your time behind bars.
