The Secret of Love

What is the one element that makes a relationship successful? It is keeping the love for the spouse or significant other a secret. The Persian Sufi poet Rumi mentions that the power of love remains strong when it is never spoken of to others. Unfortunately, people in tragic relationships tend to be very jealous of those who are in pure, loving relationships. Cos can be easily spotted, for their happiness is contagious. Yet these people will never mention the secret to their happiness to others, and it is wise never to mention it. Something that is held very sacred, such as a marriage, or religion, has its power intact when it is never spoken of, since it has never been diluted or interfered with.
Meeting the person who is to be the love of your life is best kept secret. Never tell friends or family since they will be the first to discourage you from the relationship, even though you know the relationship is right for you. Sow the seeds of your love well, and treat it with sanctity. There is nothing worse than to have achieved perfection in your love only to have it destroyed by the wrong people. Be silent about your spouse or significant other, show that person respect by not speaking of him or her to other people, even if others ask about your relationship.
