The Ugly Realities About Marriage That Young People Should Know

The romance novels we read rarely talk about the unromantic side of love. They always talk about, “head over heels” in love, “unadulterated ecstasy”, “fresh as the morning dew,” etc. Even the cinema, most often, depicts romantic movies with the lovers “smelling like roses” and “tasting like honey.” And this is understandable because people read books and go to the movies to relax and be entertained. They would like to feel good when they finish reading the book or after watching the movie.

The problem with this is, is that we are giving only one side of the reality to younger people who still have not experienced any of these and who have no way of observing the bad reality from other people. That is why when they have their own relationships, they expect that everything would be “smelling like roses too,” and a slight unhappiness or misunderstanding would have them filing for divorce.

This article is therefore, an opposite of what we commonly read. It would cite the ugly and rarely publicized side of marriage.

These are the ugly realities of marriage that you should be aware of before plunging into that commitment:

1. Morning breath is for everyone.

Any person who has been asleep would wake up with morning breath. So don’t ever imagine that the lovely lady you were married to, or that handsome husband would wake up in the morning with her/his breath smelling fresh. Expect morning breath and you won’t get disappointed.

It is a natural occurrence as the saliva gets stack up inside the mouth and reacts with bacteria, producing an unpleasant odor.

Anyway, it is not toxic and you’ll not die from it. You would surely smell the same way too. In fact, some say, it makes the early love making even more meaningful because it shows your genuine love for each other.

2. All feet stink.

There was one TV show in which the shoe- saleslady, who had served famous Hollywood personalities, was asked what she had learned from her kind of work. Her reply made everyone laughed. She said: “All feet stink!” And she was talking about famous actors and actresses. Can you believe that? But we see these personalities in the movies as looking fresh and good smelling!

Don’t expect your partner to be different from everyone. Everybody stinks, especially if she/he doesn’t bathe. That’s a hard fact you have to accept.
