The Ups and Downs of Married Life

Life is like a wheel, and as individuals, sometimes we’re up and sometimes we’re down. Same goes in married life.

I have heard lot of talks before regarding married life, some are positive but mostly negative.  Friends would comments on the hardship of raising a family.  But it did not hinder my thoughts of entering into a married life someday.  I was young then, but with a job and I thought that would be enough.  At first it was easy and I knew then that what they all said was wrong.  Until I had to stop working because of the baby.  My husband became the sole breadwinner of the family.  I can say that I did face a lot of challenges in married life but the rewarding part is that me and my husband surpasses it all.  The following are the common Ups and Downs of married life in general:

Financial Problems

Couples may tend to argue on the daily expenses of the family.  Sometimes sacrifices should be done on each personal needs.  Insecurity may arise on who brings more money to the family.

Career

In choosing who has to give up his or her career for the sake of the kids is really a tough decision.  One should be a full-time mom or dad in assisting the growing up years of the kids.

In-Laws

They try to interfere on how to run the family.  Talks and stories they make can sometimes create chaos to a family.

Peer Pressure

In trying to cope up with the trend in society, we cannot deny the fact that the husband or wife can possibly enter into an affair within there married life.  Lack of trust or too much trust could possibly lead to this.  Pressure from friends to have a break and enjoy life once in a while can sometimes have a negative effect, specially if the family is forgotten and the idea of good time prevails.

Through all this common downs in life if the couple would be together to resolve and face the problem everything would be in order.  Try to cherish the good memories, like when your wife gave birth to your child, the vacation you have as a family, when your kids were given an award in school or when they graduated with honor, the home that you build with hard-work and love.  As they say one should be thankful of what they have and not count on what they don’t have.
