Top Five Guides to Pick Up Women

Now I’m far from a master seducer, but I’ve certainly read enough pickup guides, manuals, and tutorials to know what’s worth reading and what isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. If you’re a man and you want to make an honest change in your life for the better, here are five guides to help you pick up women that will help you on your journey.

5. The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene

The seduction community didn’t grow out of a vacuum, in fact it’s art and appeal spans centuries from Cleopatra to Casanova, from Marylin Monroe to John F. Kennedy. Seduction is much more than going to bars and hitting on every woman in sight, like anything else it has its roots in history. Robert Greene is a fantastic historian, researcher, and writer, and it takes a lot for me to pick up a non-fiction book. However, readers of his previous book “The 48 Laws of Power” will attest to his fantastic writing. Robert Greene presents historical case studies for the first half of the book, and for the second half presents 10 seduction archetypes as well as examples to back them up. A fantastic read for anyone.

4. The Game by Neil Strauss

The Game by Neil Strauss is largely credited with bringing the seduction community into the mainstream. The book is not a guide per se but rather a nonfictional account of one man’s journey from loser to cruiser in Hollywood, California. Neil Strauss was originally a writer for Rolling Stone magazine and went on to meet such celebrities as Tommy Lee, Jenna Jameson, and Marylin Manson but at age 30 found his love life was lacking (click here to view). ‘The Game’ is a primer, a classic underdog story for anyone who’s ever felt like a loser their entire life and how it’s never too late to change. In the book, Strauss’s transformation occurs when he is introduced to a seducer named Mystery back in 2003 and the rest as they say is history.

3. Without Embarrassment by Mike Pilinski

Without Embarrassment is more practical than it is theoretical and that is perhaps its greatest strength. The book is a counter-argument to the phrase “Nice Guys Finish Last” and not only explains why this is but also how men can take steps to overcome it. The book is an instructional guide on how to raise your status from a “Low Male Status” to a “High Male Status” and why this is important in the long run of your emotional life. Pilinski doesn’t throw any punches, and his sarcastic, hard-hitting tone is a real reality check for those only reading his book to simply “test the waters”. A great read.

2. Secrets of the Alpha Male by Carlos Xuma

I like to think of Secrets of the Alpha Male as a male bible (and at 400 pages it ought to be). I like to think that beacuse Secrets of the Alpha Male is what a seduction guide would look like if Casanova had lived today. The book is not written in any particular order or structure. If there’s any underlying theme for this guide it’s the importance of non-verbal communication and how to live the lifestyle you’ve always wanted. There’s a personal touch to this guide that the other four book lack and for that this makes it my favorite.

1. The Mystery Method by Mystery

Quite simply there isn’t seduction without Mystery. In the beginning Mystery was a magician and native to Toronto who struggled during his youth with meeting women. Throughout young adulthood he perfected his own blueprint for picking up women, which was dubbed “The Mystery Method” which has been used to train others ever since. While some complain that the guide is rigid and constrictive in practice, making some men who use it social robots rather than unique exciting individuals, there’s no denying the influence this book has had since it was published back in 2002. In my opinion, the de facto guide for seduction.
