True Friendship
Friends.
As we grow older, we realize who are true friends are. Throughout life’s trials and tribulations you will notice the fair weather friends drop one by one. The genuine ones seem to stick around even through the worst that is happening to you at the time. As well as the best. No matter what or how, god tests your will and your faith and yes it does make you stronger and it does happen for a reason. Don’t try to figure out the reason though. Eventually you will get an answer. These friends are there to keep your head above water when you feel like you are drowning, they keep you sane and become your backbone.
While these other so called friends are pulling away slowly. You start to notice they have the lamest excuses for not calling or visiting. “I wanted to give you some space” I know you were going through a lot, I didn’t want to seem like a bother.” Their words once held some sort of respect from you now have an obvious transparency to them. It’s as if everything they say was rehearsed, pre-planned, you just don’t feel it is genuine. Truth be told it’s not.
These are the people that love you when you are doing well, they make every effort to spend time with you. Always leaning on you in a time of need. You are the first person they call with a crisis. You are the rock they need. The reliable, responsible person who always says and does the right thing. But the truth’s of people intentions always come out in a crisis.
You can choose your friends that is true. Sometimes it is not us who make the choice, rather than we are the chosen. It’s life. It’s a learning process. In the end true friendships will be shown. Treasure them.
