What a Woman Wants From a Man

What do women really want? In friendship or in a relationship, there are certain qualities women look for in men. Let’s take a sneak peak.

1. Maturity

If love is a game, then it certainly should be fun. No sensible woman wants to start playing it with another beginner or any beginner. Women sort out the boys from the gentlemen right from the start. Maturity comes from the mind and is reflected in one’s personal outlook in life. This is the reason why men who are fully grown-up, (this does not necessarily mean with “old men”), have happier relationships. A matured man can be seen as ones who are seasoned with life’s richness and experience. He keeps a good balance of everything.

2. Fun

He must also be fun: fun to think about, fun to ponder memories of, fun to respond to; generally a person who’s to be with. This means he must have that special extra quality of making life itself, and above all, a woman’s life fun to live. He knows how to instinctively make things more interesting, entertaining or amusing in subtle ways. He should learn how to accept and deal with life’s issues in a lighthearted but mature and sensible manner.

3. Attractiveness

A man can be mature or fun to be with if he fails to attract the woman he wants, then a relationship will not happen. A man may seem attractive to another woman, but not to another. This isn’t really only about looks. It’s more about the total impression of a good appearance such as cleanliness, manner of dressing, clean hands and nails, and a nice smile. These add to the overall sex appeal of a man. Women want their man to be attractive to other women too, but not too much. Women think funny sometimes, don’t they?

4. Admirability

Women look for something admirable in a man. Psychologists have told us since time immemorial that what women subconsciously look for is some sort of a father figure, a brother, an uncle, a teacher, or a hero. Women are sometimes idealistic because this is a reflection of an abstract feeling of a real need. Unfortunately, so many men who are grown-ups fall terribly short of this ideal; women are saddened to just have to accept the second-best. Generally, to be admirable, men should have solidity, achievement, and some real talents. These are genuinely achievable for any man.

5. Passion

A really passionate man does not always mean he’s always interested in sex. Passion is reflected through his enthusiasm, zest, adventurousness, and creativity in everything he does. A passionate man is sensual even in the way he appreciates nature, food, a woman’s clothes, skin, or face. He can drive a woman wild even without touching her. Women want a highly civilized animal, basically.

Nicely written and well thought out piece. While there might not be any new revelations here, it’s refreshing to see this collection of attributes all in one place. I’m glad, too, that you mentioned “care of children” as important; I’d even extend it further and say that “active fatherhood” and being a role model for the kids is important. Anyway, nicely done!
