What Do You Want?

by Midnight Writer in Relationships, October 16, 2007

Highlights of friendship, are you settling for second-best?

According to Oprah, her friend is “more excited about her accomplishments than she is.” Is this something you would like in your friends?

What traits or qualities do you like in friends? Are you settling for second-best.

Many look for:

  • loyal/stable, dependable/reliable
  • Kindness
  • liking books, reading or writing helps a lot :)
  • Interests, goals or groups in common
  • funny and or fun (sense of humor at least a little)
  • trustworthy
  • honesty where needed
  • be able to vent and talk openly
  • real
  • encouraging
  • able to relate well with each other, share a lot but not every detail of your life!
  • diversity

I don’t think someone elses accomplishments would be the FIRST think I look for in a friend but I praise my friends for it – I really want my friends to know what I am proud of the – definetly – but I really want my friends to just be there for me good/bad/happy/sad!!! WHAT you do doesn’t define you but HOW you do it does. (If that makes sense)

Yes, this is true. I want friends who are happy and sad with me, not just fair weather or rescuers. This sums it up for me!!
