What Every Beauty Wants Her Beast to Know

The three key ingredients every woman wants in her man.

The Beauty and the Beast: what a tasty feast to watch the show and to read that story, right? Yet today we hear so many sad stories of married women or of women presently in a relationship with men who are nothing but the brutes these women have always wanted to avoid. What has happened to romance in 2009? Why do we read about so many unhappy and unhealthy relationships? Why do women find it ever more difficult to find a man with whom they feel they can establish the life of their dreams? Every beauty wants a kind and nice beast with whom to share her life and snuggle in front of a fire place, right? Why? Because by nature women need and want to feel protected, honored, respected, and treated as the flowers they are. Only a strong man, a true beast, can give them this type of attention. Inasmuch as society has placed a negative connotation to the actual word “beast” it is really a neutral term comically used in the famous story. The positive qualities of a beast are actually to be coveted and that’s what a woman really wants in a man as exemplified in the famous fairy tale.

So what is the problem? Generally speaking we men just don’t understand a woman’s needs and that’s usually how and why the lines of communication begin to break down shortly after the romance and starry-eyed phase of marriage or of a relationship wears off. Then people begin to wonder what happened, the couple splits up, hearts get broken, men become players, and women become bitter. That is a very sad state of affairs and it is definitely not conducive to a society built upon strong families that last a life time.

Most women, and yes, I am speaking in generalities, want three basic things from their man: a) Unconditional love; b) A spirit of service; c) A strong sense of responsibility resulting in protection and provision. Address those three basic needs of a woman and she will be happy and fulfilled in terms of what she is expecting from her man. And by the way, the only setting in which these traits and conditions can truly be met is in the context of marriage and for that matter, a marriage that is serious about its longevity. The ease, frequency, and rate of divorce has robbed society of the security that marriage is designed to cultivate and encourage. Many people have therefore opted for living arrangements in which they try to mimic the realities of a married commitment. That only works sometimes and is actually not healthy in the long run as expressed by many marriage experts.
