What’s The Rush?
Many women and men are wondering why relationships are getting harder to keep together; this article gives to-the-point thoughts and suggestions.
I can’t stress this enough….”TAKE YOUR TIME!” Even if you’re thinking at that moment, “this is the one”, take your time to get to know one another; It’s in the best interest of both parties. Just because you have a strong attraction to someone, doesn’t mean that person has the qualities you’re looking for; which will play an important roll later in the relationship.
In the beginning of most relationships….because the attraction is so strong, no one is even thinking about qualities or expectations! However, (you knew this was coming), as time passes, and I do hope you’re smart enough to let time pass, because that’s when you’ll learn more about the other person’s strengths, weaknesses–likes, dislikes and so on. Then you’ll be able to determine if you wish to continue with the relationship. Take it slow!
There are some who jump into a relationship with both feet, getting deeply involved very fast. They begin to see the other person as who they wished they would be rather than face who they really are. They may feel stuck, shame and see themselves in an unfulfilled relationship. It’s so much more rewarding when relationships have time to mature, develop and grow, giving both parties time to see if the relationship is meeting their needs. No one should settle for a non-satisfying relationship where the desired qualities you’re looking for in a person just aren’t there.
Taking it slow helps prevent you from feeling overwhelmed by demands, expectations and maybe even a sense of feeling trapped in an unfulfilled relationship. Besides, what’s the rush? When you take your time, at least you’re giving the relationship a fair and honest beginning. Understanding the qualities you’re looking for in the other person and actually finding it…..takes time…..Don’t rush!
