Why Is This Relationship Not Working?

I know what you want but will you recognize it when you see it? When we convince ourselves that we can’t find the right mate, we try to make the one we have into the one we want them to be or wish they could be.  There are always several  ways to do this.  First, we need to see who we have and tell ourselves they are someone different.  The other way is to try and fix what we have.  Neither idea works for anyone.  When we are not honest with ourselves about who our mate really is, we end up disillusioned and disappointed,  It is not their fault, it is our own, we knew in our hearts of hearts that they would never do.  They were simply not the one that our soul was seeking.  We must be clear in what we want in our relationships, if it is intimacy, then we must seek a partner that gives us intimacy, not choosing one that is emoional detached.   We must make a decision to wait for exactly what we want and not just simply get by.  If who we have is not who we want, say so!  It is not our job to change that person.  If you brought a pair of shoes and they did not fit, should you wear them and suffer? Who I want is important enough for me to wait for.
