A Cult Pamphlet
Some thoughts concerning a modern cult.
Mihakari, a Japanese based spiritual group, has finally gotten in touch, after so many years sending pamphlets to people so that they can clean their souls. This cult would have you pay them for a membership, they would give you a locket to put on your chest of which contents you were told not to find out and the practitioners would say that you need to feel some pain in order for the cleansing to begin. I have had enough of those bogus stories. They make for amusing reading though.
Back in the day I remember meeting associates who had joined and they would give me reasons for their “conversion” and I say as I said then, to each his own. I can think of some younger chaps who are probably still being members of this sect, which has offices in Europe. I know they are in Italy. I know there are camps with sessions that drum up their membership and collect funds of course, to further their cost. One cannot join with the payment you see. More established religions have their money drives too anyway and may be in dire straits because of tough times in getting their sheep to be followers when they want to lead themselves. And there are the weak of mind that are going to be bought, if I can be so blunt, with statements like this cult will cleanse your soul much like one would purify a glass of water to eliminate its impurities. Again the more established religions do the same.
Well quite frankly, I won’t be distilling my water when I drink it, it is more beneficial with the minerals that are dissolved in it and similarly if I was younger again I wouldn’t get caught up in the metaphoric duplicity and conning. If a person feels a weakness of spirit, it does not mean he has to give up what faith he was born with, he should learn to use it first. And if there is going to be a real word of some heavenly source out there, it is not going to come in the form of money making lockets and secluded initiation camps. Faith should begin the heart not with pamphlets and crony membership associations and religion is only man made.
