Different Religions
My thoughts about todays generation and what they think about different religions.
I was raised as a Catholic child in Southeastern Louisiana. I was always taught that Jesus was the way and that God was always the answer. Though
as I grew older and learned of my surroundings, I realized that Jesus wasn’t the only thing out there.
I was brought up to believe this just as others are
brought up learning there own religion. Many people think that people in Iraq are evil or mean just because of there religion. Though are they any different
from us? I do not think so, I believe they are merely the same as everyone of us.
The woman over there were raised and told since birth to where a cloak over there face. They were taught to do this so they did. I was taught to believe in Jesus… so I did.
No one can really know if God exists. Though I think
maybe…there all God. Maybe all the gods that people worship and teach them good things are all the same God. My priest has been telling us that the war is
good and ok..and I asked him. “Jesus preached about love, and being nice and good to others. He never once said that killing was alright in times of war.
So why do you teach us that war is ok? Are we not suppose to to be learning from Jesus and only Jesus?” He was stunned and shocked… he did not know how to answer
or what to say.
I later wrote a letter to the higher Bishops in Vatican City. I got a reply back saying, “Jesus only spoke of love and kindnesses; therefore, from his teachings… war is not right.” What my question is to everyone that reads this is “Are we so different?”
