Homosexuality and Excommunication: Why I Decided to Excommunicate Myself

An uncensored and real look at the extreme ways that the church uses to bash homosexuals.

Then came our beloved Pope Benedict’s now infamous speech on December 22, within which he effectively slammed gay people and their rights, sparking huge debates the world over. That was the cherry on the cake for me, I decided enough was enough and began the process towards my public excommunication. I don’t see a point in discussing the process but it is fairly easy, after all the church is happy by losing “another” gay person.

The church is so powerful that no political party dares to criticize it. It is therefore in a position to bully the government – as happens in Italy, Spain, Argentina, Columbia, Chile, and of course Malta. In certain countries, Chile for instance, the church bullies politicians by threatening to withhold communion or excommunicating them if they vote in favor of something the church is against, in order to humiliate them publicly. This is completely unacceptable.

It is also unbelievable that the Roman Catholic Church refuses to accept the need for condoms as an effective guard against killer diseases. Can anybody care to explain that?

I also recently went on to the church’s local media center website and came across the book that they were heavily promoting, The Catholic Church and Homosexuality by Atila Sinke Guinares. I bought the book and was horrified by what I found. The opening quote states: “If anyone lies with a man as with a woman, both have committed an abomination, let them be put to death: their blood be upon them.” The books also states that AIDS is punishment to sodomites and goes on to call homosexuality “diabolic”. It was so vile and hateful that I could not stand to read the majority of it. I mean seriously, is this the best example the church can give us? Or did this book just proved my point right: that the church is all for hate and discrimination?

And, as there is no law against the incitement of hatred based on sexual orientation and therefore no protection, I will continue fighting in the way I know how – sending press releases that no one publishes and writing letters that people don’t get to read. But the fight is worth it.

The church only accepts gays as long as they are celibate, invoking feelings which destroy the self-respect of the individual. It always tries to keep the opinion of gay love as dirty and illegitimate, since it gets its power from the sense of guilt and shame it tries to instill in its follower. Since I believe it is possible to love another adult man, then my position with the church is irreconcilable.

Good read. I really apreciate people who are unafraid to voice their opinions when they know they are in the minority opinion. I’m not proud of Christian actions against gay people; no, not at all. Their bible does outline it to be a sin, but Christ told the Christian to love the sinner; not to attack and belittle him. Keep being who you are, and know there are people out there who care about you.

Yes, I agree, but Christ also said that marriage should be between one man and one woman. I’m not saying, “Homosexuals are dirty, rotten sinners damned to hell,” because 1( this would be a sin and 2(there not. God offers forgivness to those that sin, but those who refuse to accept that forgiveness. In order to recieve forgiveness, one must admit that he/she has done something wrong, which homosexuals haven’t wanted to do for the past 30 years. And also homosexuals will not turn away from homosexuality because in their eyes they are perfectly normal, and what they do is normal. but in the end its not. God did not make you Homosexual and if it’s natural behavior? all sin is natural behavior. I’m naturally inclined to lie and cheat and swear, but does this make it right? no, but it’s human nature. This behavior has become too accepted by society. all sin has. And its a never ending battle.

The CDC (Center for Disease Control) has actually stated that homosexuals are at higher risk for disease,an abomination is a term for anything that is unclean,so in essence the Bible and the CDC agree that homosexuality is unclean.

Coincidence? No. The Bible is the Word of God,and since God designed people and put nature’s laws in place,it stands to reason that when people break the laws of nature that God put in place, consequences follow.

The average life expectancy of homosexuals is 46 years old,God loves people, and He puts his laws in place for a reason, to protect people from destroying themselves.

Churches are not “bashing” anyone, telling someone that something the people are doing is wrong is simply giving them correction, not “bashing”.

If you told your child cigarettes are bad for them are you “bashing” smokers? No. You are taking action so as to prevent your child from doing something that is detrimental to their health.

Same thing here, just because we condemn sin does not mean we hate people,Jesus taught us to Love people, but He himself condemned sin.

If we were to stand silent while people do something that’s bad for them, their blood would be on our hands when it finally kills them, is that something you could really live with?

    I doubt it.

J.Robert can you source what you said? Personally I think it is hilarious that you said that the average life expectancy is 46 years for gays. I seriously hope you were kidding.

‘Dear Ronald’ churches are not bashing anyone? Are you sure about that? So the church is just trying to stop us from wrong doing, right? What do you have to say about the inquisition in the past, when the church killed thousands of ‘witches’ and burnt them alive? And oh another thing, did you know that in some countries (I am not sure about this but I think it includes the Americas) there are more women with HIV/AIDS then men?

Tell your child not to smoke is one thing, and saying that being gay is evil is another thing. But then I don’t know anything about Christianity nor am I interested, but maybe your religion is different.

And yes maybe I am committing a sin, but I was asked to follow the 10 holy commandments and I did, and as far as I can see, there is not one commandment that I am/was breaking.

Another interesting thing is why am I (as a minority) seen as ‘bad and unclean’ in peoples eyes and then priests can go rape and abuse young boys and rob them out of their innocent (and this happens with Christian ministers too)and they are instantly forgiven. Lets give out an example that maybe you are more familiar with…Larry Craig. He was on TV a while ago with his wife asking for forgiveness. Did Larry take a pill or something and instantly does not desire males anymore?

And while we are at it? What if you someday have a homosexual child? Are you going to deny him/her? Or maybe force him/her to go see a psychiatrist until eventually they end up committing suicide?

Anyway Pensiero, thank you so much for backing me up! It is always so refreshing to see an open mind among a world that is infested with conservative minds.

  6. To the fellow people that have commented

    On March 9, 2009 at 1:04 pm

I am sorry to say, but the churchs beliefs are hypocritical. How can they say such hateful things to people, yet to the general public that they accept people as they are. The answer: They do not accept anyone who is not like they are. That is the problem with people and their religions. It says in the Bible that we are not to judge.

    Matthew 7:1-5
“1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.
    2. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
    3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye; but considered not the beam that is in thine own eye?
    4. Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and; behold a beam is in thine own eye?
    5. Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”

It also says in the Bible that “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” John 8:7

So don’t condemn others, until you condemn yourself. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23

Just because you have your own beliefs, you need to respect the beliefs of others. Your not better than the next person, and you people have no right to condemn someone else, when you yourself have your own problems. I hope that one day in America we can stop being hypocritical and truly be known as FREE.

the definition of freedom is 1: the quality or state of being free: as a: the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action b: liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another : independence c: the quality or state of being exempt or released usually from something onerous d: ease , facility e: the quality of being frank, open, or outspoken f: improper familiarity g: boldness of conception or execution h: unrestricted use
    2 a: a political right b

It is a person’s RIGHT to be free. And this is all I have to say to you hypocritical people.

The CDC is the source of J.’s information, and no he’s not kidding.

The only country where HIV is more prominent in women is africa, and that has to do with the age old practice of men “sharing” their wives, as for the inquisitions and corrupt priests molesting children, that has to do with the fact that people are corrupt,by the way, just because someone “claims” to be Christian doesn’t mean they necessarily are.

    Actions speak louder than words.

The Bible speaks that in the last days, there will be some people who “pretend to be religious but whose consciences are dead”

It also states that there will be some that “will not endure sound doctrine but will heap up for themselves teachers having itching ears” (basically they’ll follow those that tell them what they WANT to hear rather than what they NEED to hear)

I say, God’s true followers are known by their fruits, As for the issue of homosexuality,it is a sin,no amount of “opinion” will change that because it is fact, that homosexuality is unhealthy is supported by more than enough research by experts.

Anyway, AIDS was first discovered in the homosexual community, it only spread to heterosexuals because there were several people that were practicing bisexuals.

Promiscuity is just as unhealthy a practice as homosexuality.

What you are calling “open” minded is simply

What you are calling “open” minded is simply those that tell you what you want to hear.

to “To the fellow people that have commented” we ourselves are not judging, just restating what the Bible already clearly states. God has already stated what is right and what is wrong, He gave every human being a conscience for a reason, his laws are on the tablet of our hearts. Even those that deny God will one day answer to Him “as it is appointed unto man;once to die and after this the judgement”

My only comments, I will be praying for you all.

Ronald, I am more than sure most have read the scriptures, but as John said, we ourselves are not judging,God already judged(and forbid) homosexuality early on in the Bible, so for us to let homosexuality flourish and be propogated as “normal” would be outright rebellion.

However, when someone’s actions jeopardize the health and welfare of others, something has to be changed. The dangers and risks of homosexual behavior and other sexual immorality is plain to see, we are not being “bigots” or “discriminating” against people, we are discriminating against corrupt behaviors that have KNOWN and DANGEROUS reprecussions years after the fact, did you know any person that has had a homosexual encounter within the last 30 years between 1977-present day,is disqualified from giving blood?

RELIGION AND SEXUALITY SHOULD BE KEPT SEPARATED, as man has to survive in a society on some norms,
    Sexual norms a family reproduction and so on, therefore;

Pl asks them when in living with same sex or opposite sex, is ok,
And also men take women from anal/ intercourse,
That is also gay behaviour and calls for psychic intervention.
So let people have their own orientation,
Even straights divorce so will gay,
What then will the world churches say?
One reads most clergy to play safe,
Have sex with only young males.
If this is not duality, what is it?
    To my mind,
We are only indulging in a business of some kind.

    Leave religion and sexual orientation,
    Let them be personal,
And let the church and human beings, carry on,
JUST KEEPING THEIR MENTAL AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION

read the article in the link before formulating a response please

The Bible actually has more knowledge and FOREKNOWLEDGE than you think, and I can prove it,

    Here.

Though the Bible is not a science book, when it touches on scientific matters it is either completely accurate or non-contradictory, and often demonstrates remarkable fore-knowledge. There are many scientific facts mentioned in the Bible that were not understood by man until centuries after the Bible was written. Following are a few examples:

    The Earth and Space

The earth’s shape is perhaps the most important to deal with first since many critics claim that the Bible portrays the earth as flat. This couldn’t be farther from the truth and in my opinion is one of the most vaporous arguments used by skeptics against the Bible. There is not a single passage that plainly states that the earth is flat1. The groundswell of this criticism gets its roots from the inaccurate but common belief among many that the ancients on up through the middle ages believed that the earth was flat. The truth is, virtually all learned people have known for the last 2500 years that the earth is spherical [please see footnote 2].

Before the learned ancients surmised that the earth was spherical, the divinely inspired Isaiah wrote “It is He who sits above the circle of the earth…(NKJ, Isaiah 40:22)”. In addition, from the Book of Job we have “He stretches out the north over empty space; he hangs the earth on nothing (NKJ, Job 26:7)”. It should be noted that just last century scientists believed space consisted of a hypothetical substance called Ether (not the chemical), which was the medium between the celestial bodies. Also, the pagans of that time believed in such things as a mythical Atlas character who supported the pillars that held heaven and earth apart, and later carried the earth around on his shoulders. Another interesting tidbit that illuminates the divine nature of Job 26:7 is the recent discovery of a huge hole in space in the direction of the northern hemisphere3.

First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics

The 1st Law of Thermodynamics states that matter can be neither created nor destroyed, and that the amount of matter in the universe remains constant. If the First Law is correct, which every scientific measurement ever made has confirmed, then the universe could not have created itself, it must have been created in the past, no further creating must be going on, and no loss of creation is occurring. The Bible is the only religious book that correctly portrays the First Law by 1) its description in Genesis of a Creator who is no longer creating, and 2) a Creator who is “upholding all things by the word of his power (NKJ, Heb 1:3)” .

The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, which states that all systems degenerate from order to disorder, was regarded by Albert Einstein to be the premier Law in science. Again the Bible is the only religious book to accurately describe this Law: “For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, the earth will grow old like a garment… (NKJ, Isa 51:6)”, and also a New Testament rendering: “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; and they will all grow old like a garment; (NKJ, Heb 1:10-11)”

    The Hydrologic Cycle

The circulation and conservation of earth’s water is called the hydrologic cycle, which is accurately portrayed in several passages of the Bible, including the following: “For He draws up drops of water, which distill as rain from the mist, which the clouds drop down and pour abundantly on man. (NKJ, Job 36:27-28)” . Centuries after the Book of Job was written, Aristotle demonstrated only a vague understanding of this process. Though he recognized that rain came from clouds, he incorrectly postulated that air turned into water and vice versa.

It has only recently been learned that most clouds are formed by ocean evaporation, but again the Bible had it right centuries ago: “All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full; to the place from which the rivers come, there they return again (NKJ, Eccl 1:7)”. The complex nature of how water is supported in clouds despite being heavier than air is clearly implied when God declared to Job “Do you know how the clouds are balanced, those wondrous works of Him who is perfect in knowledge (NKJ, Job 37:16).

    The value of Pi

In the verse of the Bible that contains a circumference and diameter (1 Kings 7:23), the Hebrew word for circumference contains an extra character at the end that can only add value to the word by applying Gematria (each Hebrew letter also represents a number). When taking the ratio of the added character to the value of the original word, the value of Pi is achieved to within 4 decimal places! A more in-depth article by Chuck Missler can be found here.

    Ocean Currents

Scientists have only recently discovered springs of water in the depths of the oceans4. Perhaps this is what the Bible is referring to in the following: “Have you entered the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in search of the depths? (NKJ, Job 38:16)”.

    Man from Dust

Researchers at NASA’s Ames Research Center confirmed that every element in man can be found in the soil, prompting one of the scientists to say “…the biblical scenario for the creation of life turns out to be not far off the mark”5.

    Gravitational Properties of Constellations

God asked Job “Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades, Or loose the belt of Orion?” (Job 38:31). In the last century astrophysicists have discovered that the stars of Pleiades move in unison with each other, and are thus gravitationally bound. They have also discovered that the stars of Orion are free agents that are not gravitationally bound! Interestingly, the three stars that comprise Orion’s belt appear to be closer together than the outer stars in the constellation, but are actually farther apart! (they appear closer together because of the 2-D plane we see them in).

Vast number of stars in the Universe

God said to Abraham ‘Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.’ And He said to him, ‘So shall your descendants be.’(NKJ, Gen 15:5)”. And through the prophet Jeremiah, ‘As the host of heaven (stars) cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant (Jeremiah 33:22, NKJ). And finally, in the New Testament “Therefore from one man, …were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude– innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. (Hebrews 11:12, NKJ)”

Before the invention of the telescope in 1608, scientists throughout history, including the famous astronomer Ptolemy (150 AD), taught that the total number of stars in the heavens was under 3000. On a clear night the naked eye can only count about 1000 stars. However, because of telescopes such as the Hubble, we now know there are countless billions upon billions of stars in the universe – just as God had revealed to us several thousand years ago through the Bible.

    Precise dimensions of Noah’s Ark

The dimensions of Noah’s Ark as described in the Bible are ideal for stability. In fact, South Korean architects who examined the dimensions found that the boat was virtually impossible to capsize! Their modeling and analysis found that the ark could survive waves higher than 30 meters! (note that a typical tsunami is only 10 meters high) 6. Many other cultures have flood legends similar to the account in the Bible, but their ark descriptions were never palatable. For example, the Babylonian Gilgamesh Flood legend described an ark that was shaped like a cube, which would be horrible for stability. 7.

The Bible’s flood account is NOT legend, but oviously the factual account, there are as the article states many cultures that speak of a flood but the Bible’s account is the only one that is supported by facts (also presented in the article),therefore it stands to reason that the Babylonian Gilgamesh flood account is NOT what the Biblical account is based on.

The Biblical account is based on what actually occurred, while the gilgamesh tale comes from babylonian oral tradition, basically the gilgamesh tale is a knock off, second hand and obviously flawed.

Many ignorantly assume that simply because the gilgamesh flood legend exists,it somehow “influenced Bible writers” but the inaccuracies in the gilgamesh account discredit that theory.

The Biblical account was divinely inspired by God,hence its accuracy.

First of all, to follow the Bible, one has to believe in it and that there is a God. There is nothing that says in the US Constitution one has to believe that book of fiction and follow it. The very basis of the Constitution is freedom, something that the United States says it stands for but does not truly believe in. The damage done by the Christian right will never heal. Look at the dumb United States, a place that preaches freedom but truly believe freedom means believing that some people should have it and others should not. Love is a beautiful thing, but I don’t know any so-called Christains who love. I grew up in a family of devout Christians who hate blacks, Mexicans, gays, women and anyone else who wasn’t a white man. Even now my family goes to a church that is all white and where women are not allowed to speak. Is that freedom? And I am from a family of preachers who get up and tell people every Sunday to hate others who do not believe that they believe–and that is to hate others. All because they use the Bible as an excuse for their own prejudices and hatred. Nothing is worse than the United States and the Rush Limbaugh types who hide hate by using a book of fiction as their weapon. No one is more maligned than gay people. No one is hated more and all because people teach other people to hate. Parents teach their children to hate others and to make fun of them. The majority of the people of the world laugh at the United States and their stupid backwards ways. It is the world’s worst country for hate and stupidity. It will fall and it will be about time for it to do so. The rest of the world will become more enlightened while the “bible beaters” will go on preaching hatred.
Equality means just that and it has nothing to do with religion. If you believe in the United States, then you have to believe in the Constitution–which is it’s bible. That bible says freedom and justice for all–and not just the hate filled Christian right. Go clean up your own houses before you come into mine. Little by little, just like with the civil right act, gays will win what the blacks and women have won and that is freedom. I know so many white Christians secretly hate Obama and think this country is going to hell because a black man is in the White House, but he’s there. Little by little, as new generations take over the old hate filled ways of their stupid parents, the USA will change. Maybe not in my lifetime, but someday. First of all, keep religion what it is supposed to be–separate, and make the United States laws separate from the religion crazies and make it what is says it is supposed to be and that is equal for everyone–including all minorities and gay people are a true minority. I truly thank Ronald for having the courage to speak out. Bible beaters are the true terrorists–I see no difference in them and people kill others who don’t believe what they believe. The so-called Christians believe their way is the only way and otherwise you should not exist. I was born gay and since everyone is quoting everyone, you can find evidence that gay people are not sick and it is not a preference. It is how we were born or, if you believe in him, as God made us. The men who wrote the bible maybe slept with men, who knows. I hope the so called Christians are happy someday when they wake up in the ground and find there is no one coming to rescue them from eternal darkness. Oh right–they are in the darkness already. They are in the darkness of their own miserable hate and their desire for the entire world to be just like them. Who in their right minds would want to be like them? Ignorant, hate filled people clinging to a book of fiction. In a few hundred years maybe HARRY POTTER books will be the new bible. There are certainly more young people enjoying them than sitting at home reading what Matthew, Mark, Luke and John had to say. Who cares if someone is gay? Living a good life and not hurting others, and trying to be peaceful and give to the world something that is honest is much better than these people who spend their lives trying to change the fundamental nature of others. Who says there is only one way to live? Who says the Bible is the word of God? Just people who fundamentally don’t know any more than anyone else. Everyone is just trying to lead a good, honest life and love others. Of all the people I know, the Christians I know are the worst people. If there was no religion, the world would be a better place by far. I mean, can you really say that religion has made the world better? It has caused most of the wars. So young men are sent to Iraq after being told “thou shalt not kill” their entire lives and then now they are being told–kill. Poor young men. Poor everyone. Christians have ruined the world as far as I can see. Just put the book of fiction on the shelf…I mean, has anyone been to heaven or died and told you that what it says is true? The human heart knows better how to love than any book will ever tell you. There is a song from the musical SOUTH PACIFIC that says…”You’ve got to be taught before it’s too late, Before you are six or seven or eight, To hate everyone your relatives hate, You’ve got to be carefully taught…” Poor children of the Bible beaters…taught hate over and over and over again. If there’s a hell, I think every so-called Christian is going there. All you need to love…love everyone and stop hating. The world would be better for it.

No one who had a homosexual encounter in the last 30 years is denied giving blood unless it’s by some right wing blood bank. Blood is tested for disease. As a gay man, I have given blood many times and I was never asked about homosexual encounters. A dangerous encounter is dangerous whether it be a heterosexual one or a homosexual one. Do you think a straight man having anal sex with a woman prositute is any different? Again, this is just somebody trying to stir up fear and hate out of ignorance. What a horrible place we live.

  21. to readers,and John

    On March 9, 2009 at 9:29 pm

Actually John, it is believed by scholars that the Gilgamesh flood tale pre-dates the Biblical account, hence a reason Bible skeptics try to say it “influenced the bible writers”….

Nonetheless what you said about the accurate ark measurements in the Biblical account and the previously mentioned flaws in the gilgamesh account show, is the following…..

The gilgamesh account is indeed discredited and shown as unreliable while the Biblical account stands firm on the facts.

EVEN IF the gilgamesh account indeed pre-dates the Bible,Bible writers would not have used it as a source,
“Why?” readers may ask, and the answer is this, IF they had used it as a source, the Biblical account would contain the same flawed measurements as the gilgamesh account, which it obviously doesn’t.

The bible is NOT fiction, despite what “skeptics” may think,
By the way,”Love for Everyone” we do not hate anyone as you erroneously believe, Jesus Loves people,as do we, but as was previously mentioned,he did condemn sin,as do we.

“Do you think a straight man having anal sex with a woman prositute is any different” this,

ALL forms or sexual immorality is wrong, all sin is equal and indeed forgivable if people repent, the fact is though many homosexuals think what they do is “ok” and do not acknowledge that it is sin and immoral despite it’s health risks.

You can honestly say you don’t hate someone and then hate them? Of course you hate them, otherwise you’d leave them alone and let them have the freedom that you think you deserve and they do not. All forms of sexual immorality is wrong are practiced by the straight population, too. So what is the difference? Your prejudice and hatred of people who are not like you. Why can’t everyone stay out of everyone else’s business? I know homosexual couples who are faithful, do no do anything risky and are dedicated to one another, the same way that some straight couples are dedicated and faithful. Gay couples are second class citizens in the United States and that fact will ultimately be proved to be against the laws of this country. As usual, the courts will find the way. Religion does not believe in equality. Religion believes in dictating a way of life based on something no one is required to believe. You can’t go to jail for disobeying the bible. As far as heaven goes, I would rather go to hell than be with the right wing Christians for eternity. Living with them now is hell–all that hate on the radio and coming from the pulpits. If God is love, then there is no love in those people. As far as anal sex being immoral, I do not think it is. I never said anything about morality. I was drawing the comparison that you seem to think that sex between a man and woman is clean and safe no matter what they do and that sex between a man and man is not. A homosexual encounter is not by it’s definition risky and unclean. It’s a double standard. You think that gay men naturally have unsafe sex and that’s not true either. I am not talking about morality. I’m talking about the fact that a man said that a gay who had sex in the last 30 years could not give blood and that is not true. What about a man who had sex with a hundred women in the last 30 years? All the blood will be tested no matter how much sex they had. It had nothing to do with the type of sex they had. Not every gay person is unclean, not matter how much to try to make them that way.

Jesus Christ, came to give life and that more abundantly. It amazes me that people talk about life, but remain self-centered in their views. God died for us while we were yet sinners. The bible states that he that states their is no God is a fool. A wise man is respected not by the words he speaks but the life he leads. Homosexuality is a sin, aw well as a lying, stealing, gossiping, hatred, and strife. All sin will have the same result which is death–spiritual separation from God. If you know something is right, then you do not have to spend a lot of time convincing others. My brother has HIV and my mother is Gay, I love them both dearly, and I treated them with respect. But, see their lives and they are not happy. Happiness should not be situational–God gives us complete joy and peace in both good and bad times. People who pretend to be happy the why they are, and become upset when others do not agree with their view, are deceieved. Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy lives and anything that destroys lives and does not improve live is not from God. As a child I was ostracized because of my mother’s choice–she does not think her choices effect her children but they have torn our family apart. God created families and without a man and a woman their is no reproduction. God created man and woman, and put them together to reproduce. This why God calls homosexuality a sin, because it goes against God’s intended purpose. A homosexual spits in God’s face and insults God by telling him that his plan was not right for their life. Who can stand before almight, all powerful God and tell him that his plan and his ways are no sufficient? No way can. There are consequences in life for the sins we commit against God. Even, the things that we say out of our mouth against God. He loves us enough not to judge us on the spot, but he convicts us and gives us an opportunity to seek forgiveness. If we question whether or not something is sin, we should ask the maker God himself to show us the error of ways with sincerity and he will. God will speak to our hearts and minds. Love is unconditional, know that God loved us enough to give us the ten commandments and to give us the Word of Gos, he wants our lifes to be full of joy, happiness, and prosperity. He wants us to willing serve him and give up or self ways. People are arguing about sex, but true love can not really be known until we know Jesus. The church is not perfect, but it does serve as a light in the earth. Know that your choices effect others, when we use drugs, promiscuity, lie, steal, gossip, hate, discriminate, commit adultery homosexuality, beastality, we hurt God’s heart he shed his blood for us so we could be free, God understood our need for him in our lives, and he understands the eternal consequences of sin—Jesus Christ is Lord. My brother was sexually abused and I know that this is not the cause for all homosexuals but it is for many of them, and men have a hard time opening up and sharing the pain, so that repress the pain–but the pain destroys their lives most be the self-destructing choices they make. Maybe your father wasn’t in your life or your despise your mother–I know homosexuals that harbor these issues. God wants to heal you and make your whole, God did not make you homosexually but he made your man in his image to be used for his purposes. God loves us, more than we deserve. I hope that you and whoever is reading this message will ask “Jesus to come into their heart and forgive them of all their sins, and change their lives, ask Jesus to show you how to live for him. Love speaks the truth, no condeming the man but addressing the sin. God loves us enough to show us when we are in error. Please do not form an opinion of all Christians, we all have growing to do, and we are no all stuck in religion, we just live to please God. It does not mean we are not human, and do not make mistakes because we do, but we love God enough to acknowledge our own sins, and help other to turn away from sin but speaking the truth in love. I don’t want any sinners soul to be lost, just like I have told my mother and brother–people who love you tell you the truth, because they want your life to be pleasing to God. How do I know what will please God–his word (Bible) tells me what pleases God. Life should be abouting honor God, helps others, and when we do that God will give us pleasure to experience in our lives. Through sexual abuse, dysfunctional parents, God has blessed my life–even through challenges of everyday life–he blessed my life because each day I strive to life for him. I hope this helps someone. God loves, but he hates the sin. No sin is greater than the next sin.

While I must say that I do not approve of homosexuality in principle, I can say that to them I can give what they want and that is to be left alone to live their lives their way. Kudoes to the author for inciting such readership on such a topic.

Ditto what thestickman said. While I do not have an opinion either way concerning homosexuality, I find the attitude of many so called Christians appalling. I know someone who has not spoken to his sister for 30 years because she is gay. I say she is better off! Thanks for writing this Ronald, if some readers took nothing from it, at least they got a whole lotta venting done trying to prove their point…lol

    Nice quote, love for everyone.

To that idiot who said that homosexuals can’t donate blood if they had sex in the last 30 years…why don’t you go dress up as a clown and entertain people? Because that is what you are after saying something like that.

I worked in the medicine sector for 4 years and I have never heard this. They are not even supposed to ask you whether you are straight or gay. All they ask is whether you are single, married or divorced. Personally I have never gave any blood, and that’s not because I am a ‘dirty’ gay guy, but because I am tattooed.

And let me ask you something, what makes you say that I am diseased and you are not? Do you know if your wife is completely faithful? Do you know if maybe she is doing someone else behind your back? I am not saying she does or anything, I am just trying to help you redeem yourself.

If there is a hell, you closed-minded people will be the first to rot in there, because as far as I know…the God I know loves EVERYONE equally. What makes you think He hates me and He loves you? I don’t hate anyone and I respect everyone equally.

Lanne thanks for your encouragement. Yes unfortunately people like you mentioned exist. I know a family who is even worse. When their son admitted he was gay, they spent thousands of money on psychiatrist trying to ‘convert his soul’ to being straight and unsinful again. Guess what? The person committed suicide and I bet today they wish they just accepted him as he was.

To everyone else who is open-minded enough, thanks for your support.

    Great article Ronald.

Christians who oppose homosexuality because “the bible says so” are hypocritical.

The Bible also says to sell all of your material possessions to feed the poor. Don’t whine about higher taxes, just render unto Caesar what is Caesars. The Bible also forbids you to wear cloth with two different kinds of thread (no polyester blends for you. The bible forbids the eating of pork and seafood and touching dead pig flesh (no football either). The Bible also forbids men from having any contact with a menstruating woman (it’s “unclean”, so I guess women are an abomination, too?)- so the next time you go to McDonalds, ask the woman who’s cooking your burger if she’s on her period. You’ll probably get your face slapped.

So, you pick and choose which parts of the Bible you want to believe in- the parts that support your own prejudices,

The Bible does not make any definite statements about scientic theories. That verse in Job just mentions that the ocean is deep-it does not state the existence of currents. And the fact that the bible mentions that there are a number of stars is not amazing- all you have to do is look at the sky at night! All the rivers do run to the sea- if you follow a river (as ancient people often did) you will come to the sea. It did not take divine knowledge to find that out. The idea that the Earth will perish but God will not is not a statement of the second law of thermodynamics- it’s a belief in Armageddon and the agelessness of God. You have completely distorted the scripture.

Dear ronald you said “To that idiot who said that homosexuals can’t donate blood if they had sex in the last 30 years…why don’t you go dress up as a clown and entertain people? Because that is what you are after saying something like that.”

Actually in most states,it is true that homosexuals can’t donate blood,so the commenter is not an idiot the fact that you have never heard that just means you need to do your research.

I have seen “gays” all over the internet complaining and asking WHY they can’t give blood, so Ron….looks like you are indeed out of the loop, since you missed that bit of information.

before you call someone an “idiot” at least look to find out if what they say is true or you simply make YOURSELF look foolish.

A word of advice, that is all

my one and only comment….take care

  33. Dear Stephanie

    On March 13, 2009 at 7:39 pm

Stephanie, you just did not READ before attacking what you saw, the 2nd law of thermodynamics is simply this that all systems degenerate from order to disorder, scripture states,

“For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, the earth will grow old like a garment… (NKJ, Isa 51:6)”,

“You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; and they will all grow old like a garment; (NKJ, Heb 1:10-11)”

While the earth Perishing and God remaining is as you say
” a belief in Armageddon and the agelessness of God”,

Nonetheless systems degenerating from order to disorder IS demonstrated, HENCE the Bible indeed DOES mention CORRECTLY the 2nd law of thermodynamics.

  34. P.S. from Dear Stephanie

    On March 13, 2009 at 8:14 pm

the Bible does not make a statement saying “this is the 2nd law of thermodynamics” granted, because WE call it “the 2nd law of thermodynamics” but the point is, it DESCRIBES the 2nd law of thermodynamics accurately.

and the Bible says not only that there are a “vast” number of stars in the universe, but that they are innumerable, something “modern” science did not discover until the telescopes invention, because it’s NOT something you can see with the naked eye. By the way, the verse in job actually says more than “the ocean is deep” it mentions springs

“Have you entered the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in search of the depths? (NKJ, Job 38:16)”.

Scientists have only recently discovered springs of water in the depths of the oceans

Anyway,we discourage homosexuality not due to “prejudices” but because homosexuality has proved unhealthy.

No one would say that disapproving of smoking is due to “prejudice” against a smoker, everyone with common sense knows it is just discouraging an action that is unhealthy…same rule applies to homosexuality.

P.S. nobody said women are an abomination, not us,the Bible,or anywhere else, having sex with a menstrating woman was forbidden for sanitary reasons, when a man’s wife was NOT menstruating having sex was not forbidden so….it is YOU misconstruing scripture

All debating aside, everyone knows right from wrong, those that diliberately go against moral laws put themselves and others at risk.

Homosexuality is a risky practice,as is other forms of sexual immorality.

I have actually known several homosexuals, and NOT ONE is happy, and it’s because in their own hearts, they know what they are doing is wrong.

All the people you are calling “nutters” are trying to do is reach people and help them find happiness, rather than living destructive lives.

By homosexuals abusing themselves the way they do, they in fact are slapping their creator in the face, people were made OPPOSITE genders for a reason.

  37. leave me alone

    On March 16, 2009 at 4:37 pm

I know a lot of homosexuals too, myself included, who are very happy. So why not leave your bigoted, biased comments for your lovely church services where you can bash everyone (blacks, women, minorities) you dislike? I am so sick of bible nutters telling everyone else how to live. I see nothing destructive my choices. What is destructive is nutters using the bible to support prejudice and hate. Thankfully most people in the USA are moving away from these white clad church goers and their horrible hatred. Hopefully freedom will someday ring in the USA, and the law will support everyones right to love the one they choose. To follow the bible, you have to believe in the bible and a lot of people don’t. That is not against the law. So the nutters will keep on preaching hate until hopefully they die choking on their own vomit. I don’t need some bigoted white man to reach out and help me find anything…I need you leave me alone, keep your hatred to yourself and stop telling me what to do with my life. I am very happy, thank you.

the vast amount of ignorance shown by the christian faithful really is staggering. the bigotry shrouded in faith is all too obvious and unfortunately all too prevalent as the comments above demonstrate. everything the article cites as reasons for leaving the church and resigning from faith are reinforced over and over in the responses to the article by those in the church. the christian faithful have proven beyond doubt that the authors reasoning and decision to abandon christianity was entirely justified and the only reasonable course of action left to take. this is a sentiment felt by many others in society and not just those who are homosexual. the doors of the church are well and truly as closed as the minds of its congregation in such matters and there appears to be no sign of this changing in the near future.

God forgives, but only those that repent, If a person continues to willfully rebel against truth, trouble, disease, and so forth follow. I am not trying to Hate anyone, only to make a point.
Jesus came to give LIFE, and he came not to condemn but to save.

However he made it crystal clear that there are consequences for what we do and that everyone will give account.

God Loves People, that is why He put His laws on our hearts to begin with, to keep us from destroying ourselves,to my fellow Christians that have commented I say this. Our Job is to minister and after we have done that, what people do with it is between them and God, further we are to minister in Love and not judgment.

    Judgement is God’s alone,

To #37,while we may come off as “bigots” to you, that is not the intent. We want to see all people have the life God intended for them, we are not “close minded” either, God set the laws of nature in place for a purpose and if a person is in error, we are told to give them correction, that does not mean we hate them.

If a child was touching a flame and you said Stop, would that mean you hate the child? of course not, it would be clearly understood that you CARE about the child and do not want to see them harm themselves.

Anyway, I will be praying for you all

Dear Ronald, what does it profit a man to gain the world and yet lose his soul. The wages of sin is death(spiritual & often physical) but the Gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. No one here is saying “kill gays” but it is true that often their own behaviors cost them their lives.

The Lord wants the best for his children, and that is why I cannot agree with homosexuality, it is not a healthy practice, and just because some consequences take years to manifest does not mean that ANY sin is “ok” the scripture says our sins will find us out and there is nothing hidden from the sight of the Lord.

I leave you with this scripture, and my prayers dear friend.

“Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins,” (James 5:19-20).

Once again, the so-called Christians don’t get it. Leave people alone. Let people live the way they want. You are not the major religion in the world. You think you are so superior only because you are in the United States and you think that God somehow made you special. Thankfully, one by one the states in the United States are seeing that legally the Christians have no leg to stand on in terms of civil rights. Whatever the Bible defines is just that–a definition put in a book of fiction. The world would be a so much better place without religion. Christians are quite simply terrorists. They see no other way but their way and everyone else is wrong and will be punished. Stop thinking that you are the only people in the world with an opinion. If fine to have religion, but keep it to yourself. Stop preaching sermons that only make you look like the bigoted idiots you are. You cannot believe in freedom and justice for all and be a Christian. It’s as simple as that. So choose and if you don’t like freedom for all, then go establish your own country someplace where your right-wing hatred can thrive. Hate is hate, and you hate people who don’t do what you want them to do and you hide behind the Bible to express your hatred. You can call it love and concern, but it’s not. It’s hatred for people who don’t believe what you believe. Is that freedom? No. The world would be a so much better place without religions telling everyone what to do.

Dear “another reader” the Bible is Truth, despite humanists, blasphemers, and rebellious agendas,God gave his Laws on our Hearts, so those that rebel against truth are without excuse, Christians are not “Terrorists” you only say that because we tell you the truth rather than tickling your ego and winking at sin, anyway you want to be left alone? If/When you finally wake up I only pray it’s not too late for you.

The fact is,sin has disasterous consequence, we are trying to help you better yourselves and live the life God wants for all of His children, happy, healthy, and productive. But you turn a blind eye because your egos, humanist carnality, and humanist thinking have blinded you.

  44. Christians with no life...

    On April 11, 2009 at 8:06 am

I would rather live in sin than living as a Christian…the bible has made you lose your soul, appreciate your life and enjoying it. A typical Christian’s day…work, work and then more work, then go home pray and gossip and hate and occasionally beat your own stick because your wife is busy reading the bible, and then when you get fed up you go to a restroom and try to find someone there…Hello Rush!!

When it all fails you get depressive, you spend a fortune seeing psychiatrists and then eventually commit suicide and go to hell…so what’s the point in being the senseless clowns you are!

You pray for us sinners and we pray for you time wasters/haters.

  45. Robert

    On April 11, 2009 at 8:20 am

Homosexuals know they are living in sin, their own conscience testifies to that fact. The fact is though they don’t care because they’re too busy fulfilling their agendas and lusts of their flesh, we can try to reach them all day long, but if their hearts are not hearing, then it’s like talking to a wall, they accuse us of “hating” them because if the world perceives them as “victims” then their humanistic, lust based agendas become seen as “fighting for civil rights”, but there is no such thing as a “gray area”. When it comes to morality, right is right, wrong is wrong, and that’s the truth of the matter.

Morality cannot be compromised just because some have chosen rebellion.

We have tried to reach them, they are asking to be left alone, so all we can do now is pray that their eyes be opened, the health risks of homosexuality should be enough to wake them up, but for some people, fulfilling their own agendas and lusts seem to take precedence even over their own health, sad but true.

Anyway,I am done with my comment,I will leave you to your thoughts.

I disagree with you lifestyle, too. A Christian Sunday school teacher, the daughter of a minister, kills a little girl and stuffs her in a suitcase. One after another minister is caught with prostitutes, male and female, but I guess all they have to do is say I’m sorry to God and then it’s okay. I don’t know of anyone more selfish than so-called Christians. They think they are the master race and they own the world. There are far more so-called straight people who commit murders, rape, incest and crimes than gay people. The Bible isn’t required reading for humanity. There are gay people who are of all faiths. Love and understanding come for acceptance of peoples’ differences. Why not just put on your white sheets and go to your KKK meeting and then you will have a real place to vent your hatred of anyone who is different from old white men. Burn a few crosses on some lawns. You’ll feel better.

Sin is not right for anyone to do, especially as Christians we are supposed to set an example for the rest of the world, I’ll be the 1st to admit many have failed miserably in that area, but that still does not make sin “okay” would you go put your hand over a hot stove just because many out there are and think it’s okay? Any rational person would say NO.

Anything that is detrimental to the health and welfare of an individual and society as a whole should obviously not be done. Normal by the way is what is healthy, and BENEFICIAL to someone rather than unhealthy, obviously homosexuality is NOT healthy, the research has proven that it is a risky behavior, so no matter what your “gay rights activists” tell you, homosexuality is not normal.

If you allow homosexuality or any other sexual immorality at that, you are in fact allowing the seeds for pestilence and putting the masses at risk in the process, all people (We Christians included)will give account for what we do, you need to realize those that murdered and “claimed” to be Christian were not obeying Christ, as a matter of fact they were in direct disobedience. Wars like the crusades and so forth were not in any way done out of concern, they were done by politically motivated people with a lust for blood, conquest and power.

Jesus said we are to Love even those that hate us and we are to minister, just because some did not obey Him is no reason to assume that the collective Hates you.

We disagree with what you’re doing because of it’s dangerous repercussions, often years after the fact. We do minister out of Love for our fellow people, the fact that many of you are so hung up on the actions of extremists in the past is often what really makes you angry with us Christians,

I’d suggest you not be so quick to assume that what we do is to hurt you, we are trying to help you,

What I meant by that you put everyone you come in contact with at risk is not that you threaten them, I am talking about those that have a bloodborne illnesses and still deliberately go spreading it around, it’s like having an open wound or TB and doing nothing to take precautions so that others are not infected.

I am not saying every gay person has a bloodborne illness, only that they know full well that their behaviors are risky and do nothing about it

You can SAY you’ve been “gay from birth” but that is just the activist propaganda that you are spouting, and you know it.I’ve heard it from too many activists to count,on tv,on the news,at those “gay pride” rallies and parades etc. especially in California. No one is saying to beat gays or brutalize them, though there may be people that do I will say again as John has, the actions of some cannot be held against the collective, everyone makes INDIVIDUAL choices.

To have feelings for a man from the earliest age I can remember, without having ever met homosexual or known what was one, is not being born gay? What is it then? No, it is not activist propaganda. You are the one with propaganda and lies. There were no gay activists when I was a child. There were just Christian ministers then, like now, preaching hate for others. Yes, peoples actions affect more than just themselves. When you spread lies and hate like you do it causes others to be injured. Hate crimes and all. Homosexuality does not kill. To say that is stupid. How does homosexuality kill? People like you, Mattias, kill with your hatred. I am a writer, too, and I meet people gay and straight also. I applaud their differences. How is being gay like putting a gun to your head? Like most of the bible beaters, you make no sense.

    On April 11, 2009 at 3:24 pm

You weren’t born gay “to mattias” and there probably weren’t gay activists when you were a child no, however, you are spewing rhetoric that is recent, using what they say now to claim you’ve been gay since then, which you know full well is activist nonsense. You’ve convinced yourself you were “born gay” as an excuse to keep living an immoral lifestyle even though you know it’s wrong.

Homosexuals are at risk for more sexual diseases, that has been proven medically and only someone blind could not see that the lifestyle is unnatural and unhealthy.

That is why Mattias said it kills,it is a contributing factor to spreading plagues, the same as prostitution and promiscuity.
I don’t see people advocating legalized prostitution(unless they are liberal and ignorant) and of course no one with any sense and without an agenda would, because prostitution is immoral, same thing with homosexuality,it is just as immoral

You are without understanding only because you willingly blind yourself “to mattias”,even in the face of medical and scientific proof that homosexuality is depraved, you love the mire that you are wallowing in even though you’re right in there “mixing with the swine” as they say.

I feel sorry for you, honestly I do, because even with people trying to help you,and with all the research that shows how dangerous your behaviors are, you still are too blinded by your activists and their agendas to get up and make your life better.

We are not animals, and we are held to a higher standard than animals. God writes his laws on the tablets of our hearts for a reason. You and others are fulfilling Bible prophecy and don’t even know it.

Scripture says there will be those in the last days that follow the lusts and imaginations of their own hearts, rebellious, and even though you are blinded by your own lusts,I still hope one day you’ll understand that we are trying to save you from your own actions because they are harming you,(which they are whether you know it now or not)

before you go accusing me of calling homosexuals “swine” let me explain that the swine mention is a reference to the Prodigal Son story, I have read many testimonies of people that were at one time heavily involved with homosexual behaviors, they changed and repented, and you can as well, if you ever make that decision, God much like the father in the prodigal son story waits with open arms for WHOSOEVER will repent and go to Him.

He will never cast out anyone that truly repents, but for those willfully rebelling, If you keep doing what you’ve been doing, you’ll keep getting what you’ve been getting.

You are all so hilarious. Your arrogance is so typical of so called Christians. “If I keep doing what I’m doing I will get what I’ve been getting?” What am I getting except grief from people like you. You are too funny. Show me the medical and scientific proof that homosexuality is depraved, and show me from something other than some so-called Christian tract or newspaper. I can show you, too, proof that homosexuality is indeed genetic. How do you know I wasn’t born gay? Just because you aren’t gay? Or maybe you are? Perhaps Jesus and the apostles were gay. Who knows? Who cares? Why is someone’s sexuality such a threat to you? Why do you people think being gay the worst thing on earth you can be? I guess if I was a Baptist minister’s daughter who killed a young girl and put her in a suitcase, then I’d be okay. Unless she was gay. But we are wasting our time–all of us. I feel sorry for you, as you say you feel sorry for me. How are you trying to help me? By making me believe some fairy tale? Religion isn’t something you are born with. It’s something you learn from your parents or you discover when you are trying to put some meaning on your existence. You have to be taught hatred. I am glad you have your faith in God to prop up your hatred and give the “mire” of your life meaning. I don’t have any “mire” in my life, thank you very much. Sorry, but all men (and women which you always leave out) are animals. That’s what we are. You keep thinking you are God’s gift to humanity, but you are an animal–that’s what you are. Again you keep quoting some bible references that make no sense, but then the entire book only makes sense to people who can use it to back up their prejudices. There is nothing on earth that says that one has to believe the bible. It’s your choice but it’s not mine and that has nothing to do be me being gay. It has to do with the fact that I think religion is more dangerous than anything on earth. Sure, it’s a book of rules but a person is free to either believe those rules or not. God, Americans really are arrogant and selfish people. Believe what I believe or else. You can’t seem to understand that all people on earth don’t believe the same things you do and they don’t have to. Religion is certainly the opiate of the masses. Go to church on Sunday and you are free to do whatever you want on Monday–steal, beat your wife and children, hate, lie, hurt others–but as long as you believe in God you are okay. Sorry, no deal.

So be it then, again though, the only reason what Christians say “makes no sense” to you is because you choose not to open your heart to what is being said.

As usual, Christians only hear what’s convenient and fits into their agenda. I know some ministers who are gay and some who have gays in their churches–are they not going to your heaven? Are there separate heavens for the uber-bigots and the truly loving and faithful? You really are hilarious. Information? What information? by the way Ron, nobody ignored the girl in the suitcase story, that was addressed by John, he said that sin is not right for anyone to do, maybe he wasn’t clear that he was responding to that but from what I saw he apparently was. There are warped people, and just because a person may SAY they are a Christian, that doesn’t always mean they are, murder is not advocated by Jesus anywhere, so that should tell you something about the individual that killed the girl. That individual will answer for his sins, just as everyone else will.

So listen to your consciences,Truth is and always will be Truth, no matter what. Go on hating and hopefully the bigoted people like you will pass away from the earth and go to your all straight, white trash heaven and be happy with people just like you. Who knew that heaven was the Confederate States of America? White sheets look a lot like what angels wear. Be happy with your hatred. I am so happy that times are changing and that many more young people don’t give a damn about all this crap. Hopefully the last of the old time bigoted Christians will pass from this earth soon.

  87. as for food for thought

What on earth does loving someone have to do with being hit by a car? How is loving someone harming anyone else? Gay people can love one another with the same degree of faithfulness that a straight couple can. Love is love. Giving correction is saying that someone is wrong. Who asked for your correction? Why are you the authority on what is right or wrong? Oh, right–the bible. Well the bible isn’t the law of the land. You have this superior attitude that is simply hiding your prejudice and hatred all you want. You can call it anything you want and cloak it in all the Christian crap you can muster, but the fact is that you hate gays.

You just keep going on about self-serving agendas but you are the one who hates gays, not me. I don’t hate gays or straights. To hate someone the way you do is under the definition of hate crime. How am I harming myself? How? I have a partner I have been faithful to from the day I met him. How is that harming him or me? What deadly practices? What, idiot? Straight people and gay people are the same. They are people. You just hate gays and that’s that. Stop reaching out please. You are only making a bigger fool of yourself. You keep trying to find a way to justify your hate by using god as a weapon. There’s nothing self-serving in my agenda. I want all people to be free to love whomever they please. I want people to be free under the law to be just that–free. As long as they don’t harm anyone else in the process then they are free to love. Why do you think all gays are wicked, dirty, horrible people? They are not. I know plenty of good people who are gay, who are faithful, who have children who are not gay, who give to their communities and who are much better Christians than you’ll ever be. They don’t judge. I know ministers who are gay. To say that all gay are dirty is like saying all blacks are horrible. That women are unclean. I am sure you believe that, but being able to say that is against the law. So you pick on gays because you have to have an outlet for your bigotry. You are so hilarious. It’s like talking to Jessie Helms.

You keep saying that it’s not healthy but show me the evidence that it’s not unhealthy, and I’ll show you the evidence that it’s genetic for someone to be gay. Show me something not written by the conservative right-wing haters. Of course the Rush Limbaughs are going to write gay hating stuff. You don’t think you are using god and the bible as a weapon? What are you doing then? You are definitely basing everything you say on your own religious agenda and your bigotry. Why is everything you talk about based on something religious? My lack of understanding? I don’t lack understanding, but you do. You hate people who are gay. That’s it and for you to say you don’t is hilarious. I don’t hate anyone. I just want the people who spew hate, like you do, to be shut up by the courts. So that to write what you write is illegal and to think what you think is labeled what it is–a hate crime. The only way anyone has moved ahead in this country is legally. And as much as that burns you up, it will happen. The USA is not the land of the free until everyone is free. How would you feel if they banned right-wingers like you? What is Christianity was called dirty and not healthy? Well maybe it’s unhealthy because I have known plenty of Christians like you who are eaten up with hate. You seem to be obsessed with telling everyone what to do. Maybe it’s all about power and the poor white man is feeling so lost now that he can’t hang a black from a tree.

You always fail to address the good things. That I am in a relationship, that I am faithful and so is my partner, that I have more friends who are straight than gay, that I’m totally healthy…you can’t stand that because your definition of gay is dirty. Gay is not dirty. There are dirty people who are gay and straight. People are people. Stop dividing them by their sexuality. You spent years dividing people by their race and gender until that was outlawed, and it’s time to stop this charade of dividing people by their sexuality. You keep trying to pin your hatred on people being dirty and unclean. That’s a stupid argument. It’s like something left over from a time of long, long ago.

You may be healthy now, but are you aware that certain cancers (like anal cancer for instance) are very prominent in homosexuals? There are certain chemicals in sperm that are only recognized and used by the female body hmm I wonder why that is?

  99. P.S. and final comment from D.

    On April 11, 2009 at 11:10 pm

Those chemicals are used in the process of reproduction by the way, that is why they are only useful when they enter the female body, in fact those chemicals have been shown as damaging to the bodies of homosexual practitioners, even your own body testifies that homosexuality is unnatural, but do your research if you don’t believe me

  100. references

    On April 11, 2009 at 11:26 pm

Even from an immunological point of view, the body itself considers homosexual acts to be disordered. For instance, there are substances in seminal fluid called “immuno-regulatory macromolecules” that send out “signals” that are only understood by the female body, which will then permit the “two in one flesh” intimacy required for human reproduction. When deposited elsewhere, these signals are not only misunderstood, but cause sperm to fuse with whatever somatic body cell they encounter. This fusing is what often results in the development of cancerous malignancies. (”Sexual Behavior and Increased Anal Cancer”, Immunology and Cell Biology 75 (1977); 181-183))

even homosexual researchers and philosophers are beginning to admit that there is no such thing as a “gay gene” that predisposes homosexuals to engage in sodomy. The National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality has published a series of these admissions by homosexual researchers and philosophers in “The Innate-Immutable Argument Finds No Basis in Science.” Homosexual researcher Dean Hamer has stated: “There is not a single master gene that makes people gay … I don’t think we will ever be able to predict who will be gay.” Simon LeVay, a homosexual researcher and activist studied the differences in the brains of homosexual and heterosexual men. He admits: “It’s important to stress what I didn’t find. I did not prove that homosexuality is genetic, or find a genetic cause for being gay. I didn’t show that gay men are born that way, the most common mistake people make in interpreting my work.”

Lesbian author and activist Camille Paglia has stated: “Homosexuality is not ‘normal.’ On the contrary it is a challenge to the norm … Nature exists whether academics like it or not. And in nature, procreation is the single relentless rule. That is the norm. Our sexual bodies were designed for reproduction … No one is born gay. The idea is ridiculous … homosexuality is an adaptation, not an inborn trait.”

This is truly getting way out of hand. Hate, discrimination, prejudice, unhealthy, cancers and what not.

    1. Not all gay people are active towards sodomy. I for one am not a fan of it because yes even though I am gay I consider it as disgusting…and I am lucky enough to have a partner that understands. So why put all homosexuals on the same shelf?

    2. Health…wow you are making it sound that only homosexuals are prone to diseases. Yes being gay you have to carry the stigma of AIDS/HIV and what not. But thanks to vast amount of information out there today I know what to do and what not to do in order to keep myself safe. And how do you people (you Christians) know that you are safe? First of all you are going to die whether you are safe or not, and maybe your husband/wife are cheating on you. I mean we are all animals and being deprived of sexual pleasure for a long time will lead us to look for someone else no matter how saintly you claim to be.

    3. From the way you are talking about sex, I am starting to think that you see your women as an object, an usable object. I don’t know much about Christianity but I am starting to think that women are the minority. They are only there to serve you, to cook, to clean and to sometimes lay there on the bed like a big lump piece of meat for you to enjoy yourself.

    4. Being homosexual has been in existence way before Christianity. Then you come into the scene with your fake religion and say it is wrong. What is wrong is the teachings you have been getting since you were a powerless child. Religion has ruined your lives and totally destroyed the fact that life is for living and enjoying it.

    5. Can one of you illuminate me and tell me, because I am truly curious now…what do you do if you have a son and admits he is gay? Push him to a psychiatrist or maybe with your fake speeches you will also lead him to suicide. I am starting to think that each family who has a homosexual in the Christian community is like the movie ‘The Virgin Suicides’. But yes I would like someone to answer me about the process…even if it is a private note.

    6. You can believe in your religion and I am not going to judge you, but please don’t put everyone on the same shelf. It is not needed and the USA will be a much better place if you learn how to handle societies that are different from you.

    7. I have also heard that you ‘dislike’ handicap children. Anyone cares to explain that too?

    8. Most of you hate African Americans. Care to explain that one too?

    9. A lot of people were killed and lynched by Christians, particularly by your KKK. How can you justify that? Killing someone in the name of Jesus because they are different? Oh come on give us a break.

By the way, the KKK is a southern racist radical group that is political,it is not a religious organization by any means, you are just looking for every nook nitpick and cranny you can use to slam us Christians because that is oh so easy, you and others call us “bigots” for telling you you’re wrong even though your own scientists etc. have said you are, homosexuality is no worse than any other sin, but it is still sin.

All of us will give account for what we do, we have talked and talked but evidently it’s falling on deaf ears, so I suggest something to my fellow Christians, it’s time to move on,we’ve ministered and tried to reach people, but they rufuse to recieve what we are saying, pray, and move on there is no point continually rehashing the same issue repeatedly.

As for ronald and his readers,I will pray for you. Yes those that you are calling “bigots” nonetheless forgive you and contrary to what you have been brainwashed into thinking, disagreeing with an action is not hating a person, but anyway, I am finished as there is not much to say that has not already been said.

A quick question just out of curiousity, do you view those that no longer (but formerly) propagated your lifestyle as “bigots” or “traitors”?

dear “may I suggest” of course the KKK will “claim” to be Christian, but Jesus said that how people live will show who they really are “They will be known by their fruits”, and despite what the Klan claims, they are (as you are) politically motivated and that is the truth of the matter, you all pick out extremists and assume they represent Christians simply because they claim to be, but you do that because you are biased and promoting your activism is the driving force behind what you’re doing,go actually talk to a Christian and you’ll find us to be very different than you think, the radicals and racists do not speak for Christianity, they speak for their own agendas.

by the way when I say go actually talk to a Christian I mean one that is truly a born again Christian,a Christian whose life is centered where it ought to be,on Christ, not someone who “claims” to be Christian sunday and beats their wife on monday, a true Christian’s life will reflect Christ continuously, not just when it’s convenient.

A traitor to what? I am very happy, seriously, that your sister is happy. She has been true to herself. By the way, there are more people writing on here than just one person. I have no idea who is writing some of these things, but as for me…I’m glad your sister is happy. That all any of us can hope for. Some of us are happy and some aren’t. Some of us want to preach to others and change them and some of us do not. Some of the people on here are full of hate and others are not.

To “Dear John,” #118 I apologize that your family is obviously extremists but again (and for the last time) I will say, the racists and radicals do not speak for me or any other Christian that is truly Christian, with that said, have a great easter!

My family certain thinks they are truly Christians. They go to church about five times a week. They read their Bibles all the time. They do everything they are told to do by their God. They talk about nothing but Jesus. They are living for heaven. They hang on to their faith like a life raft. They talk and sound like you. They find completely unhappiness in diversity and will not shut up about wanting to change other people. Yes and they too say they love everyone, even though they can’t stand them. I think they see heaven as this all white place with an endless free buffet and lots of country western music. Maybe you don’t see heaven that way and if not they are you different from them.

It’s your lives that’s true, but to accuse everyone that does not rally around you and pat you on the back of “hate” is a bit reaching, the fact is disagreement happens, that does not mean one side hates the other, just that you don’t agree with each other

No one wants to be patted on the back. The problem is that these Christians seem to think the only way to happiness is their way. Since most haven’t experienced any other way but their way, how do they know? Let people make their own choices. Stop trying to get everyone into heaven. Not everyone believes in the bible or organized religion and “not believing” should be their choice. Christianity works for some and not for others. Let people be themselves and stop trying to change them. You go your way and I’ll go mine.

Giving someone information as to what scripture says is not personally judging them. There are certain things God has already judged.

As for Hell, so many people are under this misguided belief that God is “threatening” people,he’s not threatening,He’s simply warning people that to reject Him is to reject Love itself and choosing it’s absence.

Anywhere where Love is absent would be Hell by definition. While God is Love, those that spit in His face and refuse His Love have thereby willfully forfeited it.

Would you be obligated to allow someone in your home after they kicked you brutally and shouted expletives @ you? of course not.

If someone said, “you’ll die w/out medicine” are they threatening you? of course not, they’re warning you b/c they care and they don’t want you to die.

Sin is the poison killing us, Christ is the antidote to sin.
