Looking for Proof of God? Keep Looking

Christians try to give some undeniable evidence that God is out there and is an active force in the universe. Well unfortunately their undeniable evidence is easily denied.

So while randomly browsing the Internet recently, I came across some supposed proof of God’s existence. Well being the curious chap I am, I decided to take a look at what’s passing for “convincing” in the eyes of those who are oh-so-desperate to believe these days. Needless to say I was amused and decided to share this list with you.

When you feel the wind do you see it blowing or do you feel it? You know the wind is there right? This is the same as God isn’t it? Something is moving and blowing your hair! What other force could do that?

Well let’s work backwards. What other force could there be in the world that is invisible and blow through your hair like wind? Well how about THE WIND! This supposed “proof” doesn’t even make sense. So is wind the same as god? No. We know the wind is present because it’s perceivable. We can feel it and sometimes we can hear it and so we are aware that it is there and have an affect on the world around us. In case the difference isn’t quite as obvious (and if it isn’t you’re clearly not alone) the answer is that we can not and do not perceive anything that is being done by “god”. Sorry, this one isn’t proof of anything but the wind. Well done.

Look up in the Sky at night do you see the Stars? Why and how are they not falling on you right now? something is keeping them there at just the right place right! Could it be God?

Do you know what you’re doing? You are killing my good friend science and I don’t think you even realise you’re doing it. This still isn’t proof of God. If you think this is proof of God then really it’s just proving what a poorly educated git you are. If that is the case then please just stop talking. You’ll do everyone a favour if you just shut-up. I really don’t have time to go into exactly how many things are wrong with this statement. It ranges from the time and distance travelled by light all the way to the idea of mass and gravity and it’s just not in me.

Look at the Human Eye God didn’t have to make you see in color!you could see black and white!

Yes I could see in black and white. But then, what about people who are colour blind? I guess God just hated them or something. And correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t there a bunch of animals that don’t see in colour? Maybe dogs? Does God hate dogs? This still isn’t really proving anything at all. There’s more holes in the argument than in swiss cheese.

Why is Your Heart beating what makes it stay beating? could it be God?

The answer is no. God does not make my heart keep beating and when my heart stops beating it is not because of God. Damn it, pick up a science book!

In a Court of Law it only takes 12 Jurors to convict a Suspect. Over five hundred Witnesses saw Jesus rise after being nailed to the cross! One even stuck his hand into the wounds that where on him.

Do you have a signed testimony from all witnesses that states to that affect? Or are you actually going just on what one book written by four people says? Or are you going on what a preacher says because you’ve never actually bothered to even read the bible? Yeah, I thought so.

I don’t think a single scrap of what I copied for this article could be counted as evidence for anything other than the amazing willingness of some people to accept utter bollocks as some kind of infallible scientific proof. Then again these people seem to be very happy to accept things as infallible.

Sorry, guys but this just isn’t your day. Keep on trucking though and maybe one day you’ll get it right. I’m cheering for you!

As an aside: Has anyone just considered being happy being able to believe and not need to justify their beliefs and prove it to others and make everyone else agree with them? Have some dignity, people! It’s okay if people have ideas different to yours. If you really need everyone else to agree with you so you can feel good about your beliefs then that’s some pretty weak faith.

Like I said: I’m cheering for you guys. Keep the faith and peace out!

God is what we want him to be. I believe there is something that has control over our destiny. I had an after life experience 30 years ago, and I believe that there is life after this one. So do I believe in God? Yes. Why not?
