My Views of Religion and Science
The philosophical discussion of the relationship between Religion and Science is not always discussed.
Religion can be scientific and can use science to enhance itself. I once watched a video on some astronomers who were leaders of churches. These men would look into different galaxies or planets to enhance their faith. They found that admiring the beauty of the Universe helped them understand that there really was a god. The Catholic Church once asked astronomers to use their sciences to find the correct day of Easter. My science teacher in high school was a very devout Presbyterian and he felt that he was doing the Lord’s work by teaching the natural sciences to students so they could better their own knowledge and to one day improve society through science. If not for science many people could not go to church or even listen to it. At the church I used to attend they had hearing aids available right at the door and I know my great grandmother, right before her death, used to watch a daily mass on television.
I am not sure on how the world was created or if god continually works with people. There are many signs of intelligent design and laws of nature that the world seems to follow like the laws of thermodynamics that seem too good to be an act of chance, but there are also signs of unintelligent design. Like the back of the neck holds the most important part of the brain, the part that controls motor functioning, which in the grand scheme of things is fairly exposed and unprotected in. I am not really sure if any of that matters though because the two major theories of creation end up being the same. Whether the Universe was created by god or the Big Bang they are both somewhat similar. They are alike because whether it was dust, heat, temperature, and pressure or god’s magic fingers, everyone and everything comes from the same strand. That does not solve the mystery of god and creation problem, but I think it sheds some light on the subject. Like since a scientist or a Christian really cannot know how it happened, why not look for a solution to the problem all together? Unite the two theories and say that everyone and everything is one and came from the same substances.
I believe that Science and Religion do oppose each other most of the time, but when they do come together it is fairly important. These two institutions have had more of an influence on society than any other and when they come together they have some big effects. I wish they did not have to be in conflict with one another, but maybe it is for the best. With the two constantly going at each other, society seems to draw out the best answers.

Very interesting and quite beautifully written. As long as we agree that God has nothing to do with religion, we will be on the same page. Thanks for sharing this as I found it very inspirational. Ciao
