Nature is My Bible

The knowledge and wisdom we can learn from nature far exceeds any one religious text because all religious text are a part of nature.

Read the water I was told by Cotton-a river guide legend, a jedi master of whitewater rafting.  “Like you’d read a book?”  “Yes like reading a book.”  He said.  I had never thought about reading water how it flows over the rocks with its infinite variety of boils and vortices’s, eddie lines, hydraulics, down stream v’s, and wave trains.  All this reading started as exercises in river guiding but over the years became a real spiritual enlightenment like for so many others water is spiritual tied so intimately with all facets of life people often say-Life is like a river…I started noticing structures on the river similar structures on the subatomic and cosmic scales, it was a mystical experience.  I had learned is school that nature repeats itself on different scale sizes but to see it, to live it was very exciting.

A picture started forming like putting together a jigsaw puzzle.  The picture I could not find in any science or religious text except that all the science and religious knowledge and wisdom made up pieces of the picture yet the interpretation seems to be different.  The debate between evolution and intelligent design is a good example.  I’m in the happy position of believing in both.  Science denies the emotional/intelligent force in nature.  Religion resist new scientific observations in nature.  The great spirit created life evolution is one of the ways life became diverse but not the only way.  Dr. Collins in molecular biology taught me that evidence suggest that all living things have a common ancestor-this was a spiritual insight.  He also said that all diversity came from random mutation this never set well because it assumes humans are the only emotional/intelligent creatures in the universe and this would be very unlikely if the universe was alive.

Mathematical theory is created from a set of observations and applied to the universe at large such as Newtonian physics.  Granted it was good enough to calculate the location of a planet it failed at galactic scales and at velocities approaching the speed of light.  Even Einsteins equations, a more exact description over Newtonian math is still a limit nature approaches is certain circumstances.  Today’s observations leave their interpritation up in the air-it’s anybodies guess as to what’s going on.  The new math of chaos theory, fractal geometry, iterated functions will and is proving to be an even more exact description of nature over linear math.  Life itself acts as an iterated function.  People are the answer to the equation of the their parents breeding  then that genetic information gets iterated by producing the next generation.  Life like a fractal can produce infinite variety by iterating a simple equation.  Chaos theory shows things called strange attractors where there is hidden order found in seemingly chaotic systems.  Strange attractors are found in biological systems.  Perhaps one day a strange attractor will be found in evolution in the form of an emotion/intelligent force.
