Objective Religion
This takes a brief look at many of the major religions and explains various reasons for religion and faith.
Mankind has climbed the wall of evolution to what is for now the top. We have evolved into the sentient being of the planet, and are continuing to learn and evolve. Although we have risen to the top of the food chain, with our rise in intelligence there have followed many attributes that are less then logical. One of those attributes is the idea of religion. As a race and species we have developed a need for the mystical, or omniscient form of being that holds all of life’s answers. This irrationality has directed our history in numerous occasions. Our country alone was formed because of religious refugees attempting to escape a ruler whom was ruled himself by his religion. Humans believe themselves a rational and knowledgeable species when in actuality we are limited like all other species by our own burdens. Some animals constricted by their size and others by their features, but humans come in relatively all shapes and sizes and colors and everything. Humans are constricted by their minds, their minds have become so advanced over other creatures that they live no longer out of instinct but out of a sense of purpose. There must be a purpose to life for it to be worth living, this is the beliefs of our kind. And religion fills that purpose, that longing for knowing where it is we came from. However there are many religions and only one can be the true religion of the human race.
Religion is a set of beliefs in which a person follows and shapes their life around. There is Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and millions of others that are practiced throughout the world. How can a person decide, throughout millions of religions, which to believe in, which to devote their life to. This decision cannot be made rationally; if the world was to unite under the very first religion we would acknowledge the pagan belief. Religion is an irrational concept invented by humans in order for them to cope with the idea of death and to try to understand all the events around them. While most religious people would argue that religion is based on faith and not tangible evidence, this is just another deception created to be the answer to all speculation about their beliefs. The idea that we are here for no greater purpose than to live our lives as best we can and contribute as much as we can is difficult and often impossible for many people to allow. How can an idea that we have believed for so long and so vehemently be considered as a lie?
