Objective Religion
This takes a brief look at many of the major religions and explains various reasons for religion and faith.
Whether a lie or not, scientists and historians for years have been trying to qualify the proof of religion. There have been many advances in the way scientists and historians view the times of old, when religion first began. To use an example of the advancements in this endeavor, Christianity is based off of, like several religions, a book. This book tells of a child born to a virgin and growing up to become one of the most noteworthy prophets in history. He was labeled as the son of God, and was attributed to many miracles performed throughout his life. But there were other prophets as well who were accredited with several miracles themselves. These prophets, Abraham, Noah, Moses, and others all performed many unbelievable marvels as is told in Christian’s religious reference, the Bible. All that this one religion is based off of is in this several hundred paged book. There is no actual tangible evidence that can possibly confirm what the book states, and yet Christianity is the largest religion in the world in regards to number of believers. People will look past rational thought if it means being part of something bigger than themselves.
Although there is no definable evidence to support the concept of religion it’s not all wholly wrong. While religion is for all anyone can prove a pure fictitious idea, religion provides people with the ability to believe in hope and the greater good. People base their lives off of the morals and teachings of their beliefs, and they are able to make decisions that, without religious views, often difficult for people to make. So whether religion is real or not is impossible to know, but it is evident that for the majority religion brings people together and makes them better people as a whole. And without that need for something mystical, without questioning our purpose and reason for being on this Earth we would be no different than that of the other members of the animal kingdom.
