Prayers
The most common misconception about prayers that’s making people frustrated is that “We always insist on getting what we prayed for.” Hey, that’s not the way it works.
You see God knows our everyday needs and He will give us what’s appropriate for us. So actually the proper way to pray is to just say “God, I’ll just go about my business, do everything that needs to be done, then I entrust my life to you. Please show me the way because you know what’s best for me.” Then “Let go and let God”. Of course, nowadays, we read books about praying for specifics. That’s ok too, but the bottom line is in the end it’s still God calling the shots up there. And the bottom line again is we should not get frustrated or angry when sometimes what we specifically asked for didn’t fall into our laps.
Faith can be compared to body-building and physical training. It takes a lot of practice, dedication and one-mindedness. It’s really difficult at the 1st, a lot of growing pains will be involved and there is always this test of “just when you’ve decided to have faith, along comes temptations and trials that will threaten to sway you away.” Just hang in there because when you become attuned to it, it’s such a wonderful feeling to have someone to lean on in times of need. When you have enough faith already, it becomes especially exciting when problems arise. Problems exciting? Of course. In the middle of it all you still get all those butterflies in the stomach, the worries, the cold sweats and the what-ifs, but because of your faith, you knew something good will eventually come out of it. And here’s the fun-part! Almost always the pot-of-gold at the end of the rainbow is something beyond that of what you expect. Some unexpected (or sometimes unbelievable twist) makes you end up shaking your head in awe. Isn’t that exciting enough? You just entrust it to God (again Let-go-let-God) and you’ll be amazed how things, people or situations you least expect comes through for you.
Just bear in mind “God will never give us something we can”t handle.” A lot of times failure happens when we lost faith and throw in the towel or when we let faith do all the working and simply sat down and wait for the outcome. Just like in a computer game wherein you always can’t get through a certain stage. Just remember, inside the game itself lies all the solutions and answers to every stage. You just have to be patient, continue exploring and you’ll ultimately learn the proper trick. That’s part of the fun in the game, right? It applies to life as well.
