Religion Has Nothing to Do with Real Life
People using Religion as a catch all need to wake up and get a grip.
I am sick and tired of people using Religion as their catch all for everything they do. People quoting from the Bible to make a point for their behavior or their actions. Truth is, you can find a passage in the Bible to justify anything you want. You can twist the words and turn the meaning into your favor. I am tired of the games people play in the name of God. People who are sinners just like the rest of us pretending they are more than they are to make you feel less than perfect. People who think that because they “know” the Bible word for word are constantly “talking the talk” instead of “walking the walk”. It’s not simply about the “word”….it’s about living the word in all you do. That my friends has nothing to do with Religion. The path you follow in your actions is your way to a better life….at least that is MY opinion.
Religion and all it’s “attachments” puts restrictions on us. It limits us and categorizes us and segregates us. Let’s break it down. Baptists, Catholics, Presbyterians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhist’s, Lutheran’s….and the list goes on. The Baptists think they are on their way to Heaven because they are “the one true faith” (or so I have had a few of them tell me). The Catholics swear that they are God’s BFF because they are “the oldest” (oh yes, some DO believe that) and so on and so on. Funny isn’t it….if you believe in Jesus Christ, he lived in the Middle East….hmmmmmm, makes you stop and think doesn’t it ? Or maybe it doesn’t, because you just can’t bring yourself to think about THAT. We all spend so much time fighting over who is right and who is going to Hell and who is a sinner because they don’t believe what you believe that we lost sight of what really matters.
We live on this Earth together. No matter who YOU believe in or what you believe put us here, it is up to YOU and ME and all of us to live together in harmony. Why can’t we stop fighting over who is who and what you should or should not call yourself and learn to accept each other in all our flavors and differences. The Jesus Christ I believe in did just that. Why can’t we act more like the 31 flavors of Baskin Robbins ice cream and live peacefully in the same freezer….all a little different but all wonderfully delicious in our own unique way (I know BAD analogy, but I love ice cream..what can I say)

Religion breeds disagreements and war. Better to live and let live and do no harm.

I found your article very interesting and share some of your same feelings. I have found that Christ loved those around him into changing their lives. He also ran the money changers out of the temple. I believe, as you, sometimes religion gets in the way of how He would have us live our lives in His image. Sometimes its all a game, but some of those in the game sincerely have a desire to please Him. I have had to learn to love those people too, even in their ignorance. Because when I dont, I am becoming what I despise. “By this shall all men know that you are my disciples if you have love one to another” John 13:35. Good thoughts!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I enjoy hearing what others have to say about such things. I was grateful that both comments thus far were given without being rude or abrupt. Sometimes when people discuss topics such as Religion it gets heated and words are spoken with hate rather then just mature conversation. Your insight gave me food for thought.
Lets hope we all listen to each other with open minds and open hearts. Good Day
