Spiritual Brothers, Enemies in the Battlefield

The ideology of the Muslim world and especially the Middle East is misunderstood by the majority of the world population and criticized by many who’s understanding of government, religion and family traditions are none existent. The Middle East was not always a place of conflict but a place where Christians and Muslims were proud and view themselves as spiritual brothers. According to theological teachings Abraham[i] or Ibrahim[ii] had Ishmael with an Egyptian woman with the blessings of his wife Sarah who after many years with Abraham or Ibrahim had not been able to conceive a child. However after Ishmael was born, Sarah Conceived a child with Abraham and the spiritual bond between Muslims, Christians and Jews is established making mankind spiritual brothers.

[iii]The Christian faith evolve itself in the belief that Jesus was the son of God, however Muslims recognize Jesus as a prophet and not the son of God, but both faith share the believe that the birth of Jesus was a miracle and that Mary became pregnant by the power of God. Islamic faith considered [iv]Muhammad to be the last prophet who the Angel Gabriel revealed the scriptures of the Quran. The Prophet Mohammad brings the message God (Allah) to his people and Islam begins to spread, attracting the attention of many regimes afar and domestic.

The powerful message of the Islam began to grow at a rapid pace, teaching others about God, peace, family values, tolerance and many others to include love your fellow man and for over 200 years peace rules the Middle East. Under Muslim Government, every year Christians would flock to Jerusalem on pilgrimage without fears or persecution. But sometime during the 11^th century the Seljuk Turks took control of Jerusalem and began to prevent the pilgrimages of the Christians. The powerful and influential Pope Urban ll. helped in the launching of the first of seven military assaults on Islam. The atrocities, murders, rape, etc. Was sanction with the blessing of Pope Urban ll. who represented the Catholic Church and perceived their warriors as holy man, clearly Pope Urban ll. Was not a spiritual leader following the teachings of Jesus but a man following his own ambition resulting in the separation of Christianity, Islam and Jews.

Every holy book teaches that Christians, Jews and Muslims are spiritual brothers, and yet we continue to kill each other in the name of the same god we worship. We could speak different languages or we could call God by a different name, but our survival on this earth depends of each other. Every country has something to offer and every person has the responsibility to ensure the survival of everyone and not the destruction. The time has come for the leaders of every nation big and small to dialogue the future of the world. The leaders of this great earth must stop forcing their philosophy on others and place the survival of all humans first.
