The Nature of God
In Christian theology, God has become visible in Jesus Christ His true image. Christian philosophy and theology conceived God in terms of analogy of beings as Absolutely Holy, Supreme, Exalted above the world, personal, Absolutely Necessary, uncaused caused, Existing in Himself and therefore Eternal and Infinitely Perfect Being.
One of the phenomenon humans find hard to define is God. The nature of God is difficult to explain, because nobody has seen God. It is very difficult to give a definition of God that will cover all usages of the word God or to appropriately explain the nature of God. In fact, Spinoza equated God with nature. God is however often described as a Supernatural Being that controls the universe.
According to Christian theology, He is responsible for the creation and conservation of everything else.
In most religions and philosophies, God is endowed with characteristics that distinguished Him from other beings. One of the attributes of God is infinity. God is wholly limitless and self sufficient as St. Thomas Aquinas says “God is strictly finite because His essence is identical with His existence”. God is infinite because He is “Qui est” that is “Who He is”. Infinitely means that the object that possesses this characteristic is eternal not having a beginning or an end. It is inexhaustible and it lacks internal boundaries and distinctions. God’s infinity means that He is non-finite. He is free from limitations which affect every other being.
Another attribute of God is unity. The Christians differ from the Jews and Muslim in believing that one God exists in three fold form as The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. He is one in substance and in three persons. Unity of God stresses monotheism God is the sole principle and the omnipotent Lord of the universe history.
Simplicity is equally another conception attributed to God. God is absolutely simple in the essence that the distinctions such as those between essence and existence, substance and accidents which make a finite being composite are applicable to Him. The various attributes of God are true of Him but they coalesce in an unimaginable unity in Him.
Almost all religion believes that God is spirit and does not share in human physical property. He is not to be identified with nature’s basic elements namely air and fire as the stoics do. He is not made up of bright and very subtle substance as Manichaeism teaches. In corporeality of God is the same as His immateriality. Matter is the principle of limitation and therefore He is incompatible with His perfection.

“The sun stood still” is merely proof that ancient writers of the bible (who had no real understanding of physics) were liars, since they imagined that the sun appearing to rise each morning was something that could be made to stand still, when in fact the illusion of the sun rising is caused by the earth traveling around the sun (therefore; the sun always stands still;relatively speaking). But their religious piety could not detect that little fact. Their writing indicates that they wrongly thought the sun travels around the earth. As for Gods: Whatever Gods there be, let them come down in the here and now and speak for themselves. Let not a man speak in their place and certainly let not a book substitute. Gods can speak, let them speak for themselves.
