The True Word of God

A few things to consider about the Bible.

Do you believe the Bible is the truth? Here are a few things to consider about the “Word of God”.

First of all, the true “Word of God” would not have been written by men. Do you think God would allow men to include their ideas and opinions in his word? I think not, but that’s exactly what we have.

The true “Word of God” would not have men decide what went into it. Who do you think decided what writings went into the Bible? God? Absolutely not!

The true “Word of God” would not be hard to understand. Many people have to have someone to study the Bible with them because it is archaic and hard to understand. That means someone else’s ideas and opinions are injected into their Bible studies. The true “Word of God” would not need a translator and would be understood by all people the same way.

The true “Word of God” would not have two totally different Gods represented. The God of the Old is obviously NOT the same God represented in the New Testament. Why should it be? The Old and New Testament represent two different religions. According to the Christians the Old Testament prophecy has been fulfilled and, therefore, we have the New Testament. According to the Jews it has yet to be fulfilled. Now, whose book is the Old Testament? Christians? Nope! If you want to learn about Old Testament prophecy, ask the Jews.

The true “Word of God” could not be used to make wars. Do you realize how many people have been killed in the name of God? Can you even imagine the atrocities that have been and continue to be committed? This is not God’s doing, but man’s. The Old Testament teaches its people to be war like, but not war mongers. The New Testament teaches peace and love . Do you think God put us here to destroy one another? I don’t.

The true “Word of God” could not be used to make people rich. How many times have you seen these televangelists with their $2,000 suit and a $8,000 Rolex on their arm telling you how much God and the church needs your money? I’ll let you in on a little secrete. If God wanted to spread his word he wouldn’t need anyone’s help or money.

The true “Word of God” could not be manipulated to make it say what you want it to. How many denominations of “Christian Churches” are there? Hundreds? Thousands? Who knows? I do know one thing. They are all different translations of the same thing, the New Testament! If you take 5 New Testament verses to 5 different churches you’ll get 5 different answers as to what they mean. No wonder people can’t understand the Bible. You go to one church and they tell you one thing, you go to your friend’s church they read the same verse and tell you something else! Do you think the true “Word of God” Could be interpreted, (or should I say misinterpreted), so many ways? I think not! It would be understood clearly and with no argument only one way. The way God wanted it it be understood, not man.

And finally, the true “Word of God” would be provable, undeniable, and unchangeable by man. All I can say is this is absolutely NOT what we have! If someone tried to prove the Bible is the truth in a court of law, it would be thrown out of court! I believe it is wrong to preach and teach something as the truth and the “Word of God” when there is no evidence to back it up, and plenty of evidence to the contrary.

If by your own admission the Bible is difficult to understand, which suggests by implication that you did not understand, how ever did you arrive at the conclusion that God would never have used men to write it, when at every turn from beginning to end, it is men who obviously did all the writing, except for the 10 commandments! The Bible itself purports to have been written by men set apart for that purpose, and, who wrote \”as they were moved (or, instructed) by God\”. Thus, your logic is at best irrational.

As for the need to have someone else teach the Bible, what\’s new? Every subject or intellectual discipline of any substance will have at least three things: 1) someone in need of learning, 2) the subject matter required for learning, 3) someone qualified to dispense the subject matter required for learning. The Bible is the same way. Again, as with any other course of study, the Book of books was never intended to be, for the average student, a \”do-it-yourself\” project.
