Why Does Evil Exist?

Why does God let evil thrive and exist in the world? God is pure and holy but why does he let evil exist? Why does he let torture and other means of evil exist? Those and many questions I know many people ask well I think God lets evil exist so we can see his true Glory and love through evil.

I think that God lets evil exist so we can truly see him. If everything was pure and holy we wouldn’t see God’s glory to the fullest. But if there is evil we can trust in God and see his true glory against the evil of saint. I also think that he lets evil exist because he can show his true glory through another person. For instance in the Bible there is a man who had been taken over by evil spirits and Jesus cast them out into pigs and the pigs ran into a lake and drown themselves. That passage just really shows that God can do anything and really cares for each and every one of you. You might not be taken over by evil spirits but you still might have evil thoughts of killing someone for instance and God can really be there for you and save you.

Good also lets evil exist because in hard times it lets us see his true love. Many people grow stronger in their faith after a hard time in their life and they always end up looking to God for love and he gives them love. After someone dies that you were close or a huge natural disaster kills someone you know it helps you to get stronger in your faith. It also lets God show you his true love for you and that you are worthy of is love even though you went through a hard time. It’s in the horrific deaths, natural disasters, crazy killers and other evil in this world that we really urn for God’s love and forgiveness to get on with our lives.

Lastly I think God lets us have freedom of choice so that’s why evil exists. It wouldn’t have been as glorifying for God if all day long we just praised him non-stop than if we had freedom of choice. When times get bad we could turn to God for the answer and he would save us. Evil and God’s love is like God and the world. God goes on forever and ever but the world had a starting point and will have an ending point just like God’s eternal love and the short time of evil. Plus most of the evil and suffering has been bad choices by men and temptation by the devil.

I conclude that God doesn’t like evil but he lets it exist so we can learn from it and to grow deeper in our walk with God. Darkness doesn’t really exist it’s just the absence of light. So evil doesn’t really exist it’s just the absence of God’s love. So that is why evil exists so that God can show us his true self and that cares about each and every person.

  1. He doesn't rule here

Adam and Eve let Satan become the ruler of this planet. God is honest and just, so he can’t just come in and take over. That’s the whole reason Jesus had to come into this miserable world-to win it back. Even he called Satan “the god of this world”. When Satan murdered an innocent man, he screwed up. If God got glory out of evil, as you think, why did Jesus come to “destroy the works of the devil” and heal everyone who came to him? The Bible said that Jesus was “the express image of the Father”-was he rebelling against his Father when he went around doing good? People blame God for things he doesn’t control. Rape, murder, etc. Get a life. Read the New Testament.

There is no God..there is no Satan…so your question is moot. “Evil” is just man’s inhumanity to man…meanness…greed…lack of conscience. To blame a deity or malevolent entity for the bad in the world is a cop-out. Using a Hebrew myth to justify why bad crap happens is weak as well. Just face it, some people are mean, selfish, and greedy and the rest of us suffer for it. Human beings just can’t stand not to have something or someone to blame for the bad in the world. Sucks doesn’t it?

God did give man freedom of will so therefore man made a decision and scorned the rest of mankind. You might want to check out my poem Snakes and Apples.

Evil is taking unfair advantage of someone or unfairly forcing self upon another everything else is merely a fair choice.

I cannot believe God could let babies be tortured to teach us what good is. Google Darisabel Baez and tell me God wants this.

    Let me get this straight…
Evil exists because through evil we see God’s glory?
Do you see God’s glory through a twelve year old girl raped and beaten to death? Do you see God’s true love when you hear of the millions of children who die long and painful deaths in horrible diseases?

How can love and glory have anything to do with an all-powerful being who watches a child getitng raped and chooses not to do anything about it? Are you seriously saying that God lets girls get raped so that we can see his goodness?

Same thing goes with the free-will thing. Are you suggesting that God lets a man torture a girl because He respect the man’s free will to rape, torture and kill an innocent person?
    You, sir, are sick.
