Why The Bible Cannot Truly be The Word of God 1

A simple but logical explanation of why the Bible cannot claim to be the word of God.

For millions of devout Christians the Bible is the holy, inspired, infallible word of God. They believe it to be true and they try to live by its teachings. However, how many of these honest, sincere believers in the Bible have actually thought about it with an open mind?

I am going to show you exactly why the Bible CANNOT be the true word of God. I am not looking at it through a scholarly examination of its language or similarity to other writings and so on. I am going to look at it from the viewpoint of an ordinary person.

For the record, I claim to be a Christian [for the simple reason that I admire the teachings attributed to Jesus which, if followed by everyone, could lead to a far better world]. For some time, I was in a Bible college. For some 18 years, I preached the Bible as the word of God! During those 18 years, I would have covered the Bible, from first verse to last, not less than 30 times.

Dear Truthlover, The Bible Is the Word of God, if there is an issue you have with the Scriptures, my advice is Go to God about it in Prayer so He will give you the understanding of the Scriptures that He intends. People have a tendancy to read their own understandings/interpretation into scripture often times, God intends to convey His Wisdom, and His Message, when man relies on himself rather than God, there are bound to be issues.

Jesus confirmed the Mosaic teachings of the OT even stating “for if ye had believed Moses, you would believe me, for He wrote of Me” further, Jesus Fulfilled the Messianic prophecies, He is the Messiah, you claim to be a Christian but if you were you’d know Jesus quoted OT scripture and confirmed it as History, all the way back to Genesis,Adam, and Noah’s Flood.
How can you say you are Christian and “admire the teachings of Jesus” while simultaneously refuting the Scriptures from which He taught?

The NT is mostly the Letters of the apostles and the gospels, but Jesus does not Lie, I would like to remind you that just because WE finite humans with our finite knowledge may not fully grasp everything in the scriptures does not change the fact that it is God’s Word, and He was there from the Beginning, so He would Surely Know better than we do

    Dear Honest John,

Thank you for the sincere advice. There is no question of reading my own “understanding/interpretation of the scriptures”. I am not even questioning the accuracy of the translations…I am using the exact words already there.

God has given everyone a mind to reason and search things out, not blindly accept what someone else says.

Look into the verses again, like I said, from the standpoint of an Israelite, probably illiterate, just out from Egyptian slavery,

Isn’t there a saying “none so blind as those who don’t want to see”?

    Warm regards,

    Dear Question,

You have no proof that Jesus said or did anything, you are only quoting words from another part of the Bible!

I accept that we are finite and therefore cannot grasp the infinite, but what we are discussing here is something that is finite…the creation account which is recorded in the book of Genesis. If you wait for further discussions you will see the discrepancies even more starkly revealed.

I do admire the teachings attributed to Jesus because I think they are ideal. Neither you nor anyone else can conclusively prove that he actually said and did the things attributed to him.

I think it is good to adopt any good thing from any source, if it will enrich our lives. Nearly all religions have some good things that are worthy of emulation.

My appeal to all readers is: Do not take anything anyone says without first thinking about what is said. God has given everyone a measure of intelligence and we should use that intelligence to discern what is true and what is not. If we blindly follow what someone says, we could be deceived.

Be patient with me, follow all the parts as they come, then see if I am right or wrong!

    Warm regards,

    Truthlover

    Hi H74ever,

If you stay with me, I’ll prove that the Bible is NOT the inspired Word of God. All I ask is that you read what is written by me with an open mind, and analyze what I’m saying….most people just jump in with comments without really thinking about what I’m saying!

I too keep an open mind, because I know that if I don’t, I will be no better than the fanatics that are (mis)using religion for their personal agendas.

I have no regrets about what I’ve written nor will I have any regrets about what I will write in the future. Because my motive is not to belittle or hurt anyone, but to learn the truth, however unpleasant it may seem to be!

    God bless you!

    Truthlover
