10 Reasons Masturbation is Good for You

There are a lot of misconceptions about whether or not masturbation is healthy. Here is a list of ten reasons why masturbation is a healthy thing to do for both males and females.

There are a lot of misconceptions about whether or not masturbation is healthy. Some people, especially parents and religious figures, may tell you that masturbation can cause all kinds of horrible diseases or have other negative consequences, but any doctor will tell you that it is, in fact, good for you! Here is a (non-exhaustive) list of ten reasons why masturbation is a healthy thing to do for both males and females:

  1. It helps you relax after a stressful day.
  2. If you’re not in a relationship, it gives you the sexual release you need.
  3.  Studies have shown that men who masturbate regularly are less at risk for developing prostate cancer.
  4. For women especially, masturbation allows you to explore and understand your body better, so you will know exactly what you like when you have sex with a partner. This benefits both partners involved.
  5. Masturbation is a great cure for insomnia! After an intense orgasm, try not to fall asleep!
  6. It helps to relieve PMS symptoms in women! Women produce a chemical called oxytocin during sexual arousal and orgasm, which works as a natural pain reliever. It can also help to cure headaches, muscle aches, and other assorted aches and pains any time of the month.
  7. It may help fight off depression! The endorphins released during sex or masturbation can improve your overall mood.
  8. It can improve the immune system and contribute to overall health! Sex and masturbation increase the flow of testosterone in the body, which helps to transport a hormone called DHEA, which is important to the immune system. The extra testosterone also strengthens bones and muscles.
  9. You can’t give yourself an STD!
  10. You can’t get yourself pregnant!

BS – We all know that energy isn’t wasted, it’s converted into another form of energy… And to be Asexual is to not be a sexual being. If you are sexual, you masturbate, simple as that. I’d personally rather NOT wake up to pants full of jizz in the morning either mate… I’d rather do it manually. Did you ever consider outside your religious bubble that biology might have realised that mankind would probably need to keep on creating more and more semen as his life goes on incase he wastes his heavenly seed through sexual frustration? It’s called survival mate, if we didn’t create millions of semen a day, we’d all be extinct. So actually… I think masturbation is natural… abstaining from anything in any form infact is totally UNNATURAL because you are INTERVENING INTENTIONALLY against something NATURAL…

You = Religious Brainwashing and Logic Fail

Lol BS is retarded. If you can get god himself to come to earth to let us know that’s what he wanted instead of believing some guy at a church then we would all believe it. We do have proof, you sir cannot use that excuse as you are religious. No proof = Religion = belief. Belief = something you’re not %100 certain on. Just get out

Exactly… First off the is no God, second if there was, like the one in your mind. He in your own words created the UNIVERSE!!!! do you think he would care or have the FU****G time to give a crap If some puny, human on earth is having a toss-off. Wow sounds like your God is pretty petty and MUCH more human-like then divine. If there was a God, I bet he can’t believe that of all of the different types of people on the earth that the most insane bunch of nuts decided to be his followers.

It can second as foreplay… Who doesn\’t enjoy a little foreplay with their spouse before getting it on… Just sayin… Is that a waste if you peak a lil soon? And to finish my rant I just wanna say that I believe the youths are covering reproduction for the rest of us with teenage pregnancy rates being higher than we every imagined… So I say lets all go and masturbate… With this list I think it\’ll become a weekly thing

More evidence shows masturbation being more unhealthy, than the contrary, at least including ejaculation.

One may escape the pitfalls of dopamine spikes, and disturbances in the hormonal equillibrium by abstaining from ejaculation. However this calls for a new set of problems such as retrograde ejaculation. The same does not occur if one abstains totally from masturbation.

To the arguement of the biological purpose of masturbation: Sex may be encouraged biologically, but it does not suggest masturbation itself is ‘natural’. Instead, it was intended to encourage people to procreate. You do not procreate when masturbating. In fact, there is no actual function of masturbation at all. I’ll elaborate:

First you must ask what practical purpose the act of masturbating actually serves.

    Purpose 1: A stress reliever?

A weak resort, as there are a plethora of healthier stress relief activities out there, and with far less repercussions than frequent masturbation.

Purpose 2: Fends off prostate cancer?

A reasonable intention; too bad it is not fact. A few studies claim that frequent indulgence in sex/masturbating lowers risk, but no conclusive evidence as of yet. Other studies say it has no effect.

    Purpose 3: Improves immune system?

I am not sure where this one came from. What evidence is there that masturbating boosts one’s immune system? If anything, due to the hormonal changes that come with it, one may be more succeptible to common colds and such. This is just my opinion, though.

    Purpose 4: Lowers depression?

If anything, it raises the mood temporarily, albeit for a very short time. Once the dopamine spikes, it drops, leaving the masturbator back where he/she started, potentially feeling worse than before.

In reality, masturbation holds one back from experiencing positive things that will better us.
