Cathy and Caitlin

On more than one occasion, just that issue, a disparity about feminine arousal, has bothered me. Every so often I have wanted to yell and scream, even stomp all over girlfriends who, so as to stay in control, refused to amount to anything. Unrequited emotions have been known to get people into trouble, but thank god reason was able to prevail, and everything stayed in my mind where it belonged. I can just imagine what might have happened had I married any of them.

Ideally, having good communications skills would enable both parties to find suitable mates, but it’s an imperfect world. Just what do people mean when they say what they do?

Daughter Caitlin intrigued me right off. At the Christmas party it took a while for me to ascertain who was who, and I found her quite attractive. Now 21, she has an innate sexuality about her, though I am not in a position to say if she has had much experience. Her mother is sufficiently conservative, that she would give her little or no encouragement to even think in that direction. Caitlin was dressed in well-worn jeans and a snug sweater short enough to show some skin when she stretched just a bit. Her peaches were nicely suggested without showing any cleavage, though I was unable to notice if she let herself bounce.

Her manner and appearance suggest that my suspicions about her parents are accurate. Because of her father’s genetic influence it would not surprise me of she were to eventually express herself in sex, and look forward to it with the man in her life. Despite her upbringing and surroundings I see ample hope that she will be just fine in that department. In being part of the UMASS band that plays at basketball games, she is getting exposure to men, but whether or not they might be suitable is something else.

My imagination is running wild, but what of it, as it is harmless. Besides, I may not even see her again. Still, how might I find out her last name? I do not dare ask because of the nature of the scandal and no need to know. Too bad, as the situation is food for thought that has a way of never quite disappearing. I wonder how she reacts to sexual humor. She is certainly mature and attractive enough to elicit attention from the guys.

Last time I was back east, I listened to her grandmother talk about her. How normal: the word is that every so often Caitlin sees her paternal grandparents as well as her father. Just as important, he remarried and has a couple of kids with his second wife. I can infer, that because of his earlier experience of learning what to look out for, he and his present wife are on the same page, and that as a result the marriage might be just fine. If Caitlin has a half-sister, it would give her a priceless opportunity to compare notes. What are the dynamics within her father’s family? All she would need is a more or less positive reference point independent of her mother’s side, and she might take after her father in her sexuality. Has she come to understand why he caused such a scandal? What kind of secrets does she presently have?

But then, if that were to happen she might drift away from her mother. They would become noticeably less compatible, with a differing sense of right and wrong associated with arousal vs. control. The issues are universal enough to not be limited to the bedroom, and have a way of showing up almost anywhere. Let’s face it, the whole subject is quite the mine field.
