Five Top Tips for Safe Sex

Check out the best tips for safe sex.

Everyone enjoys sex, but are you practicing safe sex or are you putting your health at risk? Unprotected sex runs the risk of sexually transmitted infections and diseases, some of which can be deadly. It can also lead to pregnancy. So read on to find out our top tips for safe sex

1. Use A Condom
Condoms are the best form of protection against sexually transmitted infections and diseases. Use them for both penetrative and oral sex. It should be noted, however, that like all forms of contraception condoms do not make sex 100% safe. Nevertheless, condoms are number one in our tips for safe sex.

2. Personal Hygiene
Keep you sexual parts clean. You can buy certain body washes specifically designed to keep your vagina or penis clean. Use it after sex to help prevent rashes and mild infections from developing. Personal hygiene is number two in our top tips for safe sex.

3. Cuts & Sores.
Do not have sex if you have cuts and sores in the body areas you are planning to use. Cuts and sores can bleed and this can cause sexually transmitted infectious/diseases if it enters your partner’s body. This is a key rule for both penetrative and oral sex, and is number three in our top tips for safe sex.

4. Don’t Sleep With Multiple Partners
Sleeping with multiple partners greatly increases your chances of picking up a sexually transmitted infection/disease. Experts recommend sticking to one partner. Before starting a new sexual relationship you should insist on your partner and yourself going for a sexual check-up. Also agree that you will only sleep with each other and no-one else so there is no risk of infection breaking into your relationship from an outside source. This makes number four in our top tips for safe sex.

5. Always Be Prepared
Number five in our top tips for safe sex is to always be prepared. It’s easy to get caught up in the thrill of the moment. This is how many people are caught out when it comes to practicing safe sex. Make sure both partners always carry condoms so that whenever you feel like a sneaky cuddle in that place you never thought you would do it you are still practicing safe sex and looking after your health.

These are out top 5 tips for safe sex. Remember, there is always a risk of pregnancy and sexual infections/disease when you have sex. However, you can minimise this risk and look out for your health and sexual well-being by following the above tips and practicing safe sex.

Good tips. I’d add in other forms of birth control as well, at least to combat pregnancy, though the condom’s probably the best for overarching protection.

Nice article… there should be more safe sex awareness especially for young people. Not just for them, though. You hear “don’t drink and drive” all the time but you hear “You should have used a condom” way more often then “Remember to use a condom”.
