Trichomonas vaginalis is a parasite that lives in the sex organs that are not hygienic. A person who is attacked by the parasite is said to be suffering from trichomoniasis. This is one sexually transmitted disease resulting from the habit of unprotected sex with more than one partner.
“Trichomonas vaginalis is a parasite. These parasites can be transmitted through sexual contact. It is usually caused when someone having sex without protection with someone who is suffering from trichomoniasis,” said Dr. Dr. Nur Rashid SpU, a urologist from the Hospital when contacted Legal ASRI, not long ago.
Trichomonas vaginalis parasite to survive in the vagina that is not clean. ”These parasites survive inside her vagina, because the atmosphere is damp. Women with this disease often have multiple sexual partners, and will pass it on to a man connected with it,” he explained.
In women, the parasite lives in the line of Miss V. While men are affected, this parasite is living in the urinary tract.
Furthermore, Dr Nur explains, that the person who attacked these parasites usually do not experience any symptoms.
“A woman stricken with this disease usually do not have symptoms, if a man is usually more pronounced because there is discomfort during intercourse,” he explained.
Because the disease often go unnoticed by the patient, then to beware, Nur doctors recommend every couple do a routine check.
“To be a woman check-ups regularly, such as pap smears. As for man, prevention can not be done with multiple sexual partners and using protection when copulating,” imbaunya.
Although often asymptomatic, trichomoniasis can lead to discharge from a person’s sex organs. It usually strikes people of all ages who are sexually active.
In women, the disease can cause inflammation in and around the vagina, which can cause cystitis. In men, infections sometimes cause mild inflammation of the urethra or without a discharge of pus.
Some women experience no symptoms and the infection is often discovered only on routine smear examination. If symptoms do occur, it may be;
- A lot of discharge, yellow, frothy, and a strong smell of Miss V
- Inflammation of the Vagina painful
- Vulva (skin around the mouth of Miss V) itch and pain
- Burning sensation during urination
- Discomfort during sexual intercourse
Men also may have no symptoms, but if there is, the symptoms include:
- Pain when urinating
- Discharge from the penis
The disease can be treated with antiparasitic drugs from a doctor taking.
